Is anyone out there applying to TWU for the Fall of 2010? I got this idea from a previous thread and thought I should get one started for this semester, so that we can help each other and communicate with each other?
I have taken the Hesi-A2 and got a 74.8 on it so they didn't even look at my application. I live on campus so any help or information I can give just let me know. I'm excited and feel good about this deadline.

I would love to go ladies but I usually take care of my grandmother on Fridays, she recently had surgery on her hip and still needs help getting around. Plus, I am not 21 yet and the last time I went to BWW in Rice Village they refused to let me even into the bar area because I was not 21 even if I said I wasn't going to try to drink lol. So... yea.... And for those who have been there the other area (not the bar) is pretty small so idk if that's where yall were planning to be or if you wanted to be in the bar section (which is basically half of the restaurant lol).
Like everyone else, I am looking forward to getting the packet! I'm anxious to get scrubs, etc. and do everything already but I think we should just be patient and wait and see what the packet says. When I talked to the program coordinator for Houston she said something about an information session (or something) in May, so I'm assuming that the packet will have that information for us. She said in May for those who want to take Patho, they will tell us how to register for it then, but idk if that info will be in the packet also or if we have to wait until May.
Cross your fingers, packets should be sent out by the end of the week!! By then Houston should have the list of names of who to send them to! (She said she was only going to get the list after the deadline to accept/decline, which is tomorrow at 5 or 6 pm.)
I wonder if they will be sending out more letters to people because some of those who got accepted declined the offer? I'm still crossing my fingers for one of my friends! Also, UTHSC hasn't sent out acceptance letters yet so there's a lot of people who probably accepted TWU but if UTHSC is their first choice and they get in, they'll call TWU and say that they can't go after all.

Plus, I had the manager set up a table for us...he's aware that everyone is not of drinking age(I thought of dolsen)...it's all good. Were just out to have fun and get to know one another...please come if you can, and anyone else who is interested. :) :)
Also, did you apply to UTHSC also? I did, and have yet to receive ANYTHING from them...what is taking sooo long??

HMMM you're making me want to try to go hahaha at least for a little bit so that when we all meet later I won't feel so alone. It'll be nice to have familiar faces during info sessions and at orientation and stuff... And esp since most of us are interested in taking patho in the summer!
And yes, I did apply to UTHSC. TWU was my first choice so as soon as I got the e-mail from them I was kind of like "ok who cares about UT Houston" lol but I am still curious to know if I got in or not... I'm thinking maybe not though because I applied to UTMB and was denied admission even before they sent out interview invitations... And they are both UT schools, lol...
Your other post says that you set it up for 3-8 pm but that's a big time period lol... So what time was everyone actually planning on going?
I can be there at anytime because I get off work at noon, and have no other responsibilities... Do we just ask them for the TWU table when we get there?
Acutally, I reserved the table under Haywood. I will definitely be there at 3 because I have another engagement at 7pm.
That sucks about UTMB man, I applied there also, and got my letter of "Thanks, but no thanks" on March 6th. I don't care anymore about UTHSC, but I still want to know. It would be funny if they did send me a letter of acceptance. I would be ecstatic, but my choice is made and I'm not changing it!!
Hey, I have been reading all your posts and I'm so excited about finally getting started. I have been accepted at TWU Houston but I'm waiting to hear from UT-Houston and Texas A&M HSC. I am trying to evaluate every school equally so I can make the right decision. One question I had though was about the tuition at TWU. I have found estimates for the other schools and I saw the undergraduate break-down for TWU but I wondered how much it would be including the specific nursing fees. I know some of the posts have been from current student so if one of y'all could let me know I would really appreciate it!!
I will only be able to be there between 3-4:30, I have a soccer game to attend at 6pm. I hope I get to meet the majority of you, if not, I will see you in May or another get together. I am still in disbelief about everything, I am nervous, scaird, an excited. I have so many emotions right now, I just hope I can be the best that I can be in school. All my life I have wanted to become a nurse, I have never wanted to do anything else. I keep telling my self that God would not have put this strong desire into my heart if it was not meant to be...surely He would not have brought me this far to fail. Well I hope yall feel the same way...we all deserve this.
daniele: first, welcome to the group! 2nd, I estimated the tuition to be around 16K per year (give or take 6K for room/board). That's really a good question though.
dolsen: You are very welcome, anytime!! :) You hit the nail on the head when you say that G-d would not have brought you this far to fail! Don't worry, we will be fine in school. I'm sure TWU has great resources for help if and when we need them. I applied to med school 4 times, and 4 times I was denied. This is my first time applying to Nursing school and I got accepted! Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself trying to do things my way...and he's saying, "Slow down lil girl, I have a plan for you, and it will be done the way I want you to do it, MY WAY!" I was hard headed, but I'm learning now! We do deserve this, but we cannot forget about HIM in the end. Glory to G-d! By the way, my family worships Hebraic Christianity and God is spelled G-d in case anyone is wondering. We used to attend Shalom Hebraic Christian Ctr in Kingwood.
We need to formulate some questions for our "happy hour" because I'm sure we all have some if not most of the same questions that we are all anxiously waiting to get answered...lol!!!
hi everyone. i've been keeping up with this thread for a while now but finally decided to join today! i can't wait to meet you all this friday. it's great to start making ties early so that things will feel a bit better come august. i'll be working in the area on friday so i'll try to drop by around 3 or 4pm. will we be sitting at a table in the normal seating area of at a table at the bar? i just want to be able to find the group easily..
