TWU Fall 2010

Published

Is anyone out there applying to TWU for the Fall of 2010? I got this idea from a previous thread and thought I should get one started for this semester, so that we can help each other and communicate with each other?

I have taken the Hesi-A2 and got a 74.8 on it so they didn't even look at my application. I live on campus so any help or information I can give just let me know. I'm excited and feel good about this deadline.

Good luck and I look forward to meeting you!

If you read the sections in the book that talk about the different techniques, you will do fine on the NG tube. You might also want to read the section about wound care and steril technique. As far as the medications go, you will need to get it completely right or they will fail you...don't worry though...if you know your angles, when to aspirate and talk EVERYTHING through you will be fine.

They don't want you to fail, but if you go in there blind they will fail you. Talk out loud and treat your sim guy like a human.

If you have time to go and practice on the NG tube then GO!!!

Does anyone have any idea what the wall suction is???

The wall suction is an electric machine with a big bucket and tubes that I had never ever seen before!! If you have the option of going to the lab prior to your check-off, you might need to go.

Very nervous about tomorrow's clinical and sad because my dog (sprinkles, who is like my child) is not feeling good. I think she got bit by a spider and it really makes me sad to see her mope around. She's totally the opposite, hyper and doing something she's not suppose to. She was my (our) patient tonight :'( we had to shave around this "bump", cleaned her up, gave her some pain med, put some neosporin on and made her a pallet so she could go to sleep. Sucks that neither my boyfriend or I will be home tomorrow. I really hope she's ok...

And thanks missmoe for posting some info.

Hey guys, the blueprint for the Concepts exam is posted on blackboard!

Sorry to hear about ur doggy dsilverbear, I hope she feels better...

I guess I should start to study for concepts since I have nothing to do today:uhoh3:. I was hoping for a complete day of rest but...

Hope everyone did well on their checkoffs this week. If you passed them, let me know so I can be happy for someone I know:D

WOW!

is that the one where they had to use a scale from the zoo or something to weigh the people? I think I've seen that show before...late at night when I can't sleep.

Was it a father-son team of physicians who run a clinic?

Finally home after 13 hours! It is now 7:32pm Friday night and my whole day was spent being at the lab! My plan was to study concepts while at school, but that didn't happen. Started my stations at 2pm didn't finish until 5:30pm!

The good thing is I passed all the stations. Sterile/wound passed it by a hair, but passed. OMG, today was the looooooooooooooooooongest day ever, but I'm glad it is over with.

Oh, and my puppy (lol she's 8 yrs old) is doing better. Poor thing, she was here all day by her lonesome. Left her while it was still dark out, came back home and it is now dark.

No it must have been a different show, but they did use a huge scale to weigh the patient. I believe the hospital was a specialty hospital especially for obese patients.
