TWU Fall 2017 Nursing Applicants

Published

Hi all,

I've decided to go ahead and start this thread for those who are in the process of applying for the HIGHLY COMPETITIVE nursing program at TWU (FALL 2017) Feel free to share your STATS, questions, and good vibes as we're all here to get accepted!

I'm personally interested in the Night/weekend program since I already have a bachelor's degree and I just finished my TWU application (since TWU requires you submit a "new student" application first, then the Nursing application) I am planning on submitting my nursing application right after I hear back..

I also have not yet taken my TEAS, but am in the process of studying for it to take in a couple weeks!

How's everyone else doing?

I just got the email :D

ou guys think we will hear something by March 10th or March 17 in previous threads people normally find out the friday of March 17

I don't think it will be the 17th because that is their Spring Break. It's either the 10th or 24th. I'm hoping the 10th. :)

hello! Does anyone know what TWU looks at? I've read a few different things. Do they look at your overall GPA? Or just SCIENCE GPA? & TEAS score obviously

I am not sure one of my math classes is going to transfer and I have not received an email yet so I went ahead and called to make sure that we will get an email if we are not eligible. I was told we will get an email either way! I was too scared to just ask my status then, especially considering I am sure they are overwhelmed!

Which math class are you worried about? Can you list the name & credit hours of the class?

Hello all,

I am currently in the CON program at Dallas. If you have not already been told, or even if you have, for your own sake DEFINITELY take Patho at TWU or I think they may accept transfers from Brookhaven (but check on that) BEFORE your program starts if at all possible. They do not accept Patho transfer credits from everywhere. So if you already have it, check with them to make sure yours will transfer successfully. I can't stress this enough. This will save you an unimaginable amount of time and sanity. Very busy this semester, but I will try to check back if anyone has any questions for me about that or anything else!

Good luck! I know the waiting period is no fun at all!

Hi all! I'm new to the site as member but have been watching the threads for different programs for Fall 2017! I haven't gotten an e-mail yet and submitted my app for TWU Houston in early January. Nervous about the process but excited to start a nursing program somewhere!

Good luck to everyone & hopefully we'll hear back sooner than later. :)

Hi Divine_17, they also said I was marked with C, I dont understand how A,B or C works in admission. I am experiencing a very nervous period of time now. I applied to Houston.

What exactly are you referring to? Where did you marking come from and what does that mean?

Hi all. I'm kind of new to this forum but I would like to contribute my stats and see what you all think about my chance of getting in.

Applied to the Houston location with these stats:

  • Nursing GPA: 3.68
  • Pre-req. GPA: 3.84
  • TEAS 6 overall: 84%
    • Reading: 89.4%
    • Math: 84.4 %
    • Science: 80.9%
    • English: 83.3%

    [*]Excel worksheet points: 40.93

    [*]No previous bachelors degree

    [*]No TWU preference

cdh116, you may have a chance of getting in! As I said before, Houston is much easier to get into, so you definetly have a better chance than if you had applied to Dallas :) Good luck!
