TWU Fall 2017 Nursing Applicants

Published

Hi all,

I've decided to go ahead and start this thread for those who are in the process of applying for the HIGHLY COMPETITIVE nursing program at TWU (FALL 2017) Feel free to share your STATS, questions, and good vibes as we're all here to get accepted!

I'm personally interested in the Night/weekend program since I already have a bachelor's degree and I just finished my TWU application (since TWU requires you submit a "new student" application first, then the Nursing application) I am planning on submitting my nursing application right after I hear back..

I also have not yet taken my TEAS, but am in the process of studying for it to take in a couple weeks!

How's everyone else doing?

Saame! I just want to find out already. I feel like I can barely concentrate in class until I find out!

I'm so nervous about finding out if I got accepted or not... I heard if you have at least 40 points and are a TWU student, chances for Houston look good.

:cat:

knowing that makes me feel better. I hope we know soon...

Does anyone know if they look at your overall GPA or just by the point system?

Your nursing GPA, teas score and preference make up the points. Idk how they are weighted though but GPA and TEAS are like 50/50 I think and the preference helps a ton.

thank you!

Hi, future nurses!

We've gotten some panicked phone calls about information shared on AllNurses.com, so we wanted to pop in and help clear up some confusion and offer reassurance.

We are processing both Dallas and Houston applicants at the same time. Because there are multiple people processing applications, we each take a chunk of the alphabet so that we don't stumble over each other as we work.

Processing applications is taking us a little longer than anticipated because we are understaffed. We are absolutely working as quickly as possible. It is our goal to have acceptance letters sent out after Spring Break. Both Dallas and Houston applicants will receive notification of acceptance at the same time. (There is no Dallas finds out first, then Houston finds out later. We're not sure where that information is coming from.)

Please refrain from calling, dropping by, or emailing to check the status of your application. We know the anticipation is fierce, but try to remain calm! All questions and notifications about your application will be sent to the email you used to sign up for NursingCAS. Make sure you check your email (including spam/junk folder) at least once a day. If you're worried that you may have missed an email, log into NursingCAS and check your notifications section.

Best of luck (and remember to take deep breaths)!

Is there any TWU student from Houston here that I can ask some specifics about clinicals? I.E. how many days a week in Senior capstone?

Do you guys think we will hear something on 03/24? When is Spring break?

Probably. The week before is Spring Break.

I'm taking classes from a couple different schools and all three of their spring breaks start next week the 13th.
