TWU Fall 2017 Nursing Applicants

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi all,

I've decided to go ahead and start this thread for those who are in the process of applying for the HIGHLY COMPETITIVE nursing program at TWU (FALL 2017) Feel free to share your STATS, questions, and good vibes as we're all here to get accepted!

I'm personally interested in the Night/weekend program since I already have a bachelor's degree and I just finished my TWU application (since TWU requires you submit a "new student" application first, then the Nursing application) I am planning on submitting my nursing application right after I hear back..

I also have not yet taken my TEAS, but am in the process of studying for it to take in a couple weeks!

How's everyone else doing?

Thank you! I just called & I'm 6th on the list. With my stats, I didn't think I'd even be considered so I'm staying optimistic

Hi! may i ask what your stats were for TWU?

I'm a current sophomore right now doing my pre-nursing classes. When do I start to apply to TWU?

estimate when you pre-reqs will be completed. Since you would enter the following entry cohort, look at the deadline for the semester of entry, and about 6 months before apply to TWU on applytexas. Then once accepted you can apply to the nursing program.

I got ACCEPTED.

my points were 41.33

I had a TEAS Score of 84 and a TWU bump! I'm sooo happy cause my nursing gpa was a 3.2

you just gave me hope! what location?

First semester is interesting! Our first semester is a little weird thanks to Harvey, a lot had to change / be more flexible!

We just finished our first full round of exams and our white coat ceremony is tomorrow!!! So excited!

No, summer classes are not offered, and trust me, 3 weeks into the semester you will be happy to think you get the summer off! But you can do cool electives in the summer, trips to Peru, china, etc., or internships!!!

Where are you guys seeing the spreadsheet for the points?

My post title TWU Second Bacc has a link to a file. It's in the pre-nursing student section. TWU now has a downloadable file.

Can you possibly share this grade worksheet please because I can't find it anywhere.

Id like the group's opinion about my odds of getting accepted for the 2017 Spring Term at the Houston Campus. I have recently completed all the prerequisites to apply for TWU's nursing program using the transfer option, Im a 32 year old Navy Veteran, have an associates from San Jacinto Community College with a 3.38 GPA. Im studying for the TEAS so no scores to report yet. Thanks.

The TEAS is really the most important part in the admissions process.

If you go to this thread, you'll see a response from the TWU admissions team. They link the spreadsheet (https://www.twu.edu/media/documents/nursing/GPA-WS.XLSX) you can fill out with all your info. It then assigns you a point value. Here are the stats for the Spring 2018 class:

Houston (502 total applicants)

Lowest admitted score: 44.1

Avg. GPA: 3.72

Avg. TEAS: 87.2%
