TWU Fall 2017 Nursing Applicants

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi all,

I've decided to go ahead and start this thread for those who are in the process of applying for the HIGHLY COMPETITIVE nursing program at TWU (FALL 2017) Feel free to share your STATS, questions, and good vibes as we're all here to get accepted!

I'm personally interested in the Night/weekend program since I already have a bachelor's degree and I just finished my TWU application (since TWU requires you submit a "new student" application first, then the Nursing application) I am planning on submitting my nursing application right after I hear back..

I also have not yet taken my TEAS, but am in the process of studying for it to take in a couple weeks!

How's everyone else doing?

Was it for the Houston or Dallas campus? For Houston, the background check/fingerprinting online application sign-up isn't due until April 28 (not the actual background check itself). She would pay for it when she goes to her appointment to have the actual background check/fingerprinting done. Was she concerned about that?

Does anyone know what will happen to anyone who didn't turn in all the paperwork on time? My friend did turn in all the signed paper however she didn't have the money to pay for the background check till today so she is really nervous if her acceptance is voided now?!! I am really nervous for her! She did email them but it was after 5pm so she has to wait for a response now![/quote']

Just out of curiosity, do they look at the GPA with the .4 bump? Hypothetically if my Nursing Science GPA was 3.8, would I be considered to have a 4.0?

Specializes in Labor and Delivery.

No, they do not add to your GPA. It is a point system on an excel spreadsheet. It used to be on the website but it seems to not be anymore. If you make an appointment with an advisor, they can give you some great information.

I recently got accepted to UTHSC for Fall 2017 however I already accepted the admission offer at TWU and went to orientation( I haven't registered for classes though). If I want to go to UTH can I still reject TWU's offer? Or is it too late? I only accepted TWU because they needed a response in 10 days and I didn't know if I would get into UTH or not.

Yeah you can still reject their offer. There was no deposit like other schools so you won't be loosing money. I would say send an email to Ms. Abraham or Barbara

Hello pappa22v, EMT-B,

I recently sent a request to join the TWU Houston Nursing Class of May 2019. My name will appear as Karen Saldana and my email is [email protected]. Would you please allow me to be part of the group. I have many questions about Castlebranch and how to access it.

Thank you,

Karen L. Saldana Melendez

Hi, I believe it was accepted already. If not let me know, and we will try to troubleshoot how I can add you.

Just so you know, we do not have Castle Branch information yet. The school is still waiting on Castle Branch to send the login code for our class! THey expect to get it to us soon, but they are saying mid-July at the latest so no worries!

I am applying for Spring 2018 and would love to keep in touch with someone who is starting in Fall 2017 to get some tips. Please don't abandon this thread when yall start school!

We have already mostly moved to FB and GroupMe. But we still lurk on your 2018 boards so don't worry...

Ooops meant for another thread.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew any good and affordable health insurances? I'm aware that TWU offers one to students but I wanted to keep my options open. Thanks!

Check the Health Insurance Marketplace... I think it offers the best deals. However, it will your particular age and situation will dictate which company offers you the best deal. (You will want to apply as having had a life change since it is off the normal enrollment period)
