Hello! Just wanted to start a thread for those applying to the college of Nursing at Texas Woman's University. Who already goes there? What do you have left to take? Are you nervous... etc!
My name is Alli, I will start at TWU, not the nursing program, this summer. Moving to Denton with my husband. I can't wait!
Yea, they simply use the worksheet on the website (it's exactly what the administrators use when they look at you)...no other classes or grades matter.
Thanks Jodeface. I was hoping to see how they calculated online somewhere. I have several math classes and was not sure which grade they were using...Maybe I'll have to call???
Was the checklist through Pioneer Portal or through the Web Advisory Link??? I don't even see anything labeled "checklist"Thanks in advance.
No need to log in anywhere! Go to twu.edu/nursing and click the GPA Calculation link on the left, it'll take you to the Excel files you can use to calculate. (You have to enter in grade info yourself.) As far as checklist, that's just the handout about the application process, under the Apply link on the left...it also links to the same Excel thing.
I was wondering how much detail do we need to go in for the Science portion compared to whats on the ATI Study Guide? In other words, should we cover more (in detail) rather than whats on the study guide...
I guess people who have already taken the tests can shed some light on this matter better than people who haven't yet.
Thanks in advance!

Well, we can't say too much about test contents on here, but based on pages 1-3 of this thread (and some other threads about TEAS/other schools) I think we all thought the science section was more difficult, even those of us who used the ATI study guide or practice tests. I'd study whatever you can for science...there are even some general study guides for nursing entrance exams out there (Kaplan, Barron's, etc) that have useful study info and practice questions for science. That's what I did...just checked out a bunch of those at the library and went through science questions, plus took both of the TEAS practice tests on the ATI site.
Edit: Here's a really great, really LONG thread about TEAS. Enjoy. :) https://allnurses.com/pre-nursing-student/teas-study-skills-436739.html
What is this "bump" a few of you are speaking of about the TWU gpa?I take my teas v tomorrow morning.. hope I do well! This whole application process has been so stressful for me!
I think if you have already taken classes at TWU they give you a .4 bump on your GPA, which sounds really good to me. Although I personally won't be getting it...lol
Good Luck on your test tomorrow. I just took mine today although the place where I went could not give me my test scores so I have to wait till they are uploaded.
hello everyone!
definitely study everything you can for science and manage your test time wisely. i missed 1 question in reading because i ran out of time. obviously, my speed reading wasn't fast enough! i received my score today and man didn't expect to do poorly by my own standard. the average was very low, too. is this common?
by the way, does twu require essay for nursing application? does anyone know what the topic is if there's one? i couldn't find it anywhere from twu nursing page about it. i'm using applytexas.org and am not seeing anything there either.
to those who have been accepted, congratulations! y'all deserve it. to those who will be taking the teasv anytime soon, good luck!
