TWU Fall 2011 Hopefuls

Published

Hello! Just wanted to start a thread for those applying to the college of Nursing at Texas Woman's University. Who already goes there? What do you have left to take? Are you nervous... etc!

My name is Alli, I will start at TWU, not the nursing program, this summer. Moving to Denton with my husband. I can't wait!

hey Ljackson there is a thread for dallas fall accepted students and a facebook group by the same name. please feel free to join the group and add ur post to that thread. thanks. im going to go find the post and bring it back to the top so it wont be buried in all the other posts.

Is anybody currently in TWU's phd program in Houston? Would love your thoughts on the program!

I am in the Traditional Program...I have a friend who's a member of Allnurses.com and I will have her join this thread to answer questions for those of you going into the weekend program.

My theory on the stats is this...."Don't give them a reason not to accept you" Because I know someone who had a 3.5 GPA a 70 on the TEAS V and only had an A in statistics and A&P I for the first attempt classes...So it all depends on the people who are applying at the same time you are applying, what there scores and grades are like determines how competitive it is....

For the students who have already finished JR1 courses, which books do we really need? and which books should we just forget about? Any suggestion is much appreciated.

I am currently applying to TWU Dallas for the fall semester. I got a 90.7 on the teas (put me in the 99th percentile for nation and 98th for program... not sure what that truely means in comparison with the program) and a 3.3GPA. I did not go to TWU for the classes, so i don't get the GPA bump... anyone know any stats or some of the scores of others that got in during previous semesters using the TEAS? I'm curious to see if my TEAS will offset my gpa or not... Not sure. What do you think?

After speaking with advisors (I am transferring to TWU fall 2011 and only have 3 prereqs left), last semester's lowest gpa who got into Dallas was 3.4, but they had a near perfect score on the TEAS. I've also heard that GPA is less important than the first attempt in bio/math courses and your TEAS score. You also receive more points if you already have a bachelor's degree. Good Luck!

did you get in?

hey, m preparing for teas v. Can you tell me what books did you refer to besides ATI testing study manual? Do you know some study material for english and language part. Any help will be great. Thanks

Hey guys I'm a spring 2010 hopeful, could you give me some stats please I want to know where I stand, thank you sooooooooooo much

Does this school have a program for second degree students who don't have an RN license (something preferably less than 2 years in length? I couldn't find anything on the website, so I just wanted to check :)
