TWU Fall 2011 Hopefuls

Hello! Just wanted to start a thread for those applying to the college of Nursing at Texas Woman's University. Who already goes there? What do you have left to take? Are you nervous... etc!

My name is Alli, I will start at TWU, not the nursing program, this summer. Moving to Denton with my husband. I can't wait!

Yeah, I got an email. I thought we would first get regular letters of acceptance and then emails later but the email came first.

There are always some students who get into multiple programs and couple spots will be open later so don't panic yet

I got in to TWU Houston for the Fall 2011! I am very excited! I had a 3.8 gpa, 4.0 in science and an 82 on my TEAS. I did not expect to get in, but I am happy that I did!!! VERY VERY Excited!! :)

We started a Facebook group for everyone who was accepted to UT-Houston for Fall 2011. We have about 40 members now, including a few current students and the manager of the Nursing bookstore. THe FB group makes it super easy to have extended conversations about a lot off different topics all at once. We also created permanent "documents" with important information, like the pre-enrollment requirements, parking information, immunization requirements, and uniform guidelines. I definitely recommend someone start a TWU Facebook group for your class. Congratulations everyone who has been accepted!

Thanks for the input, guys! I heard they're sending them throughout the week (I think?) so I won't give up hope, yet. I just want to see if I can get accepted on the first try without a "waitlist" or... a rejection. I've been accepted at other schools, but TWU Houston is at the top of my list so we'll see.

By the way, rocket surgery and alyallen, y'alls GPAs are great! Congrats, again! Hopefully I'll hear soon... I know that when I talked to the secretary last week she said that they'll e-mail the acceptance "letters" by the end of the week-- and I know people didn't find out on Monday, actually found out on Tuesday and even today... so maybe it's just a continuous process until Friday... and then they'll send the rejection/ waitlisted letters last. I need to remind myself that patience is a virtue haha.

Don't forget that applicants to both TWU and UT-Houston have until April 15th to make a decision. Some people know immediately which school they want, and some people will take until April 15 to make up their mind. So there could be some people accepted to both schools but who choose UT-Houston on April 15, and TWU would then send out acceptances to more people. I don't know the date for UTMB or HBU decisions, but I'm sure it's similar. So if you're wait-listed, don't give up hope if you don't hear anything by April 15.

What gpa and tesi score did you get, if you don't mind me asking??? I still havent found out...im assuming i didnt get in but thought I could improve for next time.

you can go to the nursing office and ask where do you stand on the list of acceptance. dont give up hope just yet. there will be more acceptance letters sent out.

i had a 4.1 gpa with the bump and 78.7% on the teas v... i had all A's except in micro on the first attempt.
