TWU Fall 2020 Applicants

Updated:   Published

Hey there. I plan on applying to TWUs N&W program in February for the Fall 2020 start. I just took my TEAS test today, my score was:

Overall: 85.3%

Reading: 87.2%

Math: 96.9%

Science: 74.5%

English: 83.3%

I'm not happy with my science score, but I also haven't taken A&P II or Chemistry yet, just A&P I. I plan on retaking the TEAS in December.

I have a 3.85 science core GPA (one B in A&P I) and 3.81 prereq GPA. that gives me a 45.56 admission score, which probably won't cut it. I can't retake A&P I in time, so my only hope is a higher TEAS score.

Who else is applying for Fall 2020? Are you applying to Houston, Dallas Traditional, or Dallas N&W?

The cut off for Houston this spring before they moved to the waitlist was a 47 I believe. Do you have a previous bachelor's degree to give you the points bump? Your TEAS scores and GPA are all really great!

No, I don't have a previous bachelor's degree. A student that got admitted for the spring also told me that some people were admitted with scores in the low 40's. I honestly don't have the money to pay for another TEAS test.:/

Yes there definitely was people taken off the waiting list with low 40s! Your scores are great the average TEAS score for those admitted is an 86 so you are right there and have done a really good job! I'm not sure if fall is more competitive than the spring but you may still get in with a 44, just don't be discouraged if you're initially waitlisted!

Fall is very competitive vs spring from my experience!

I think TWU is getting more competitive in general! For Spring 2019 the lowest admitted before the waitlist was a 44, then this year for Spring 2020 it was a 47 before the waitlist!

Hey everyone! Good luck on applying for the fall semester. I am currently in the N&W program at TWU and I know how hard it is to get information in regards to that program so if anyone is applying to the N&W program feel free to ask questions. Again good luck!

It’s sweet of you to reach out! I’m applying for the Fall 2020 N&W program at TWU. I’m excited but nervous because there are only 40 spots.

I have 63.33 score for TWU’s point system, a previous bachelor’s, 4.0 in overall and nursing core classes, and a 90.0% overall score on the TEAS. Any insight on my chances? I know their admission data varies year to year with this program as it is new compared to the traditional route.

Also, I’m in the process of completing the NursingCAS.

Wow, that's crazy!

Hopefully someone is nice enough this Christmas and pays for a TEAS retake for me lol. I know that if i scored at least 2-3% higher itd make a huge difference.

I am preparing myself for applying for TWU ,fall 2020.

That’s a good score you should be fine. Make sure the score you got is the same as what the advisors have!

Hey! I just went back in the thread and saw that you got in the Spring Houston program! Would you mind sharing your stats and were you waitlisted at first?
