TWU Fall 2020 Applicants

Updated:   Published

Hey there. I plan on applying to TWUs N&W program in February for the Fall 2020 start. I just took my TEAS test today, my score was:

Overall: 85.3%

Reading: 87.2%

Math: 96.9%

Science: 74.5%

English: 83.3%

I'm not happy with my science score, but I also haven't taken A&P II or Chemistry yet, just A&P I. I plan on retaking the TEAS in December.

I have a 3.85 science core GPA (one B in A&P I) and 3.81 prereq GPA. that gives me a 45.56 admission score, which probably won't cut it. I can't retake A&P I in time, so my only hope is a higher TEAS score.

Who else is applying for Fall 2020? Are you applying to Houston, Dallas Traditional, or Dallas N&W?

hey so I have an admission score of 63 and I'm applying to Dallas Traditional for Fall 2020. Is that good?

Based on previous threads it looks like for Dallas anything above mid 50s is competitive ?

In case anyone was wondering, it took 4 business days for me to get accepted into TWU. Beats 6 weeks! Lol

Woah, crazy! I've never heard of it going that fast, but I'm glad it worked out!

Me too! I talked to the adviser at the Dallas info session and he said that it was a very competitive score. I asked about the evening weekend program. Even though the traditional program is more competitive, it sounds like 63 is still a really good score for both based on what I have seen and heard.

That's so fast! When did you apply? I submitted around Thanksgiving and my account still says "ready for review."

I applied on 12/11 and was accepted 12/17. So it took 4 business days.

I submitted all my transcripts the day I applied and my schools sent them electronically so TWU got them the very next day. I also applied for the spring semester instead of the fall. I want to take Pathophysiology because I've heard it's extremely difficult to take it during the nursing program. Maybe since I chose spring they rushed the admission process?

Are you planning on taking patho in the spring? I'm thinking about it but I'm hesitant just in case I don't get accepted into TWU ?

When I did my advisory, they suggested not taking it in the Spring and waiting until the Summer, for that reason.

I am. If I don't get accepted, oh well! Lol it's just one class. I mean if you can afford it, why not right? I really don't want to take it in the summer because it's going to be a shorter course, making it harder and I have a little girl. So I don't think I can do summer. Actually, I know I can't. I failed my nursing program at Lonestar this summer because it was too much work compressed into one summer and I had my little girl plus a family emergency come up. So I know I can't do summer with a toddler.

That's exactly where my mind is at. I'd much rather take it for a whole semester vs. summer or during the program

I did my TEAS today, glad to have that over with. Calculating my points I'm at 66.3 and am applying to Houston.
