TWU Fall 2020 Applicants

Hey there. I plan on applying to TWUs N&W program in February for the Fall 2020 start. I just took my TEAS test today, my score was:

Overall: 85.3%

Reading: 87.2%

Math: 96.9%

Science: 74.5%

English: 83.3%

I'm not happy with my science score, but I also haven't taken A&P II or Chemistry yet, just A&P I. I plan on retaking the TEAS in December.

I have a 3.85 science core GPA (one B in A&P I) and 3.81 prereq GPA. that gives me a 45.56 admission score, which probably won't cut it. I can't retake A&P I in time, so my only hope is a higher TEAS score.

Who else is applying for Fall 2020? Are you applying to Houston, Dallas Traditional, or Dallas N&W?

NursingCAS told me today and last week that they don't have to be received, just ordered. And I think an advisor also told me the same. I'm starting to freak out about one of my transcripts. It had to be mailed and it's taking forever for them to receive it. ??

I sent a transcript electronically and had notification of arrival, it still took a number of days for them to enter it into the system as received.

The one I sent by mail took about 6 business days to arrive and be updated as received. If it's sent by USPS I think the max amount of time is 7 business days to arrive. If it's been longer than that, they probably just haven't updated yet.

Thanks for the info The school sent the transcript so I'm not sure if they used USPS how long it will take. NursingCAS said no more than 7 business days. Its been about 10. I hope they get it soon.

I wish I would've sent transcripts in a long time ago. I got so caught up studying for the TEAS that I completely forgot.

Also, can I just say that this thread is pretty dead at this time compared to previous TWU threads. Anyone else notice that? Maybe it's a good sign for us?

Yes! I mentioned a while back that not as many people are active for this application cycle as they have before. Hopefully it means that it will be less competitive ?

Also, does anyone know where we can check if TWU has received official TEAS scores? Or can we only check by calling?

I don’t think that’s why, I think less people know about allnurses .com because half of my history class has applied to Twu’s nursing school this month & barely anyone has ever heard of allnurses.

Hey actually I sent some transcripts over the break and I sent them electronically but if you know it has been sent to the school call TWU in the morning as soon as they open and they will give you an email to the person who can update your account in less than an hour and you should be set!

If you selected them as the school when you took the test then your fine. Otherwise you only need to upload your official score report to NursingCAS

I think as long as you upload your teas score to your nursing cas application, you’re fine.
