Hello Princess WannaBe and other special Friends:
Soon we will be going through the same agony we just went through recently as we sat and waited on the letters with decisions that were made for our lives at the moment.
We are all going to be positive through this process again and once again
I am positive, upbeat and excited.
TWU Nursing Program here we come:nuke:
Princess WannaBe and others on the waitlist we are still pulling for each one of you to make into the Spring 09 program. Yes, as we know anything can happen...hang in there:yeah:
I have the low down on the applicant situation...
It is driven by GPA/NET...1ST
Example: If an applicant chose Dallas first and their GPA was not high enough
for that campus, but op to go to Houston whether they chose Dallas first or Houston second makes no difference. TOTALLY GPA/NET then divided out among two schools Dallas/Houston.
They had 700/800 applicants, but all the applicants did not qualify due to
course completions, NET Scores, unanswered emails etc. My understanding
this number is between two campuses Dallas/Houston
For sally it would depend on how far down the list she is. Sally might not get in based on her gpa. Now sarah might have a chance after they place all the first choice houston spots. Then sarah could get in and might bump someone out. I think they try to place all the first choice people first and then if the second choice people don't get in at their first choice then their gpa is used to get in the their second choice
Last semester there were I believe around 600 that applied to the Dallas campus alone. So 700 would sound right for dallas this time. If we think about it there are those who are waiting for a second go, like us, and there are all of the newbies.
The big hammer of the situation is whether majority of those applying have the .4 bump. That made it so last semester nobody through the traditional program was accepted with a GPA below a 3.9. There were a few people placed on wait list with lower GPA's but I believe they were applying through the fast track.
At least we have no fast-track this semester and we have GOD. So we can only hope that those who are really meant to make it through will. Those who don't make it this time, there is a reason and there is next time. We just have to metwork and find out what we can when we can.

i understand what you are saying princess, but they do try to put you at your first choice, but i thought sophia was saying, that on the means of gpa, they gonna look at who's is higher regardless of preference right? meaning
"sarah" 3.7 dallas, first, houston second. didnt get accepted to dallas.
"sally" 3.5 houston first, dallas second.
wouldnt they pick sarah first for that spot or no? im just trying to understand.
