Twu Fall 2009 Applicants

Published

Hello Princess WannaBe and other special Friends:

Soon we will be going through the same agony we just went through recently as we sat and waited on the letters with decisions that were made for our lives at the moment.

We are all going to be positive through this process again and once again

I am positive, upbeat and excited.

TWU Nursing Program here we come:nuke:

Princess WannaBe and others on the waitlist we are still pulling for each one of you to make into the Spring 09 program. Yes, as we know anything can happen...hang in there:yeah:

Specializes in Emergency.

yes you take patho and pharm when you get in, actually the first semester i believe. i will take patho over the summer to get a better grade if i get in. except if baylor accepts me only, then i can because they combine the two together. they have Patho & Pharm I and Patho & Pharm II, also if i get accepted to TVCC, cuz its just an ADN program and they dont require it in their curriculum..

i need a new laptop, im deciding btwn an HP Mini, some dell & a mac air. any suggestions. my doctor uses a littman, and hers is SO heavy and bulky. i dont know if i like that or not. do you know if there are any other stethoscopes that are of similiar nature and quality?

There are soooooo many littmanns. So, if you don't want that kind pick another one. Paramedics use a lighter version that is just as good...if not better. Reason being they need it out on the streets in all different types of noises so it has to be good.

Which one is harder patho or pharm.? And if we take them this summer do we still ahve to take them at TWU? Also does anyone know when the orientations usually are?

Specializes in Emergency.

i would say pharmacology is harder, dealing with all the drugs and names. possibly. idk because i havent taken it. patho wasnt too bad. if you take it in the summer you dont have to take it at TWU again. i thought orientations was like the week before classes start for two days. but idk.

Well maybe I'll look into takeing patho this summer. Do you know of anyone that offers it in houston over the summer? i know my community college doesn't so I'll ahve to look elsewhere.

Specializes in Emergency.

i took mine online at stephen f. austin. does TWU not offer it online.

I have no clue. I found pharmacology online at my community college. I'll try to take one or the other.

Specializes in NICU.

I know they offer patho at the parkland campus in dallas. I have looked at some old threads and it mentioned them offering patho at the houston campus but when I looked on their class schedule couldn't find it. So maybe they offer it somewhere in houston since past students have mentioned it

Sophia: I'm actually looking for a roommate as well. :)

If you have already taken patho but not at twu, would they still give you credit for that class or is it required to take once nursing program starts?

nhoward, north harris college has patho classes but i'm not sure if they are offering over the summer. I'll ask the teacher monday.

Alright let me make sure I steer my friends in the right direction regarding Patho and Pharm. If you take Patho. or Pharm at any other college make sure TWU will accept this class because you might be taking it over. I took it at UTA and TWU did not accept it so I had to take it again last semester at TWU. Patho. is listed as Biology----(forgot the code). The only reason why TWU did not accept UTA is because UTA was only worth 3 credits and listed as a Nursing Course instead of a Biology. TWU Patho. (Biology) is worth 4 credits.

I would not want any of you to take either one of these classes and then turn around and find out you have to retake...waste of money, time and resources.

You all mean so much to me so I feel privileage to be able to share valueable information with each of you.

Each of you have so much to offer and I know without a shadow of a doubt...we will all be fine.

I want to share something very important and dear to my heart. I have a sincere peace regarding this application period that I did not have before and I pray each day and night that each of you will search for that peace that I have so deep in my heart.

Last application period I was a nervous wreck. I made myself miserable and everybody around me that way as well. It is not there this time and part of that feeling is due to all of you. GOD has placed each one of you on this website for a certain reason. It may be for some to re-evaluate their lives, to put one another in touch with another, to form bonds that will never be broken or to strengthen those who sometimes let their faith be questioned.

If one of these examples relate to you take a few minutes to hold out your hands and say GOD lead me according to your will and not my own.

Remember who we worship and who is in control...it is not YOU:)
