TWU Applicants Spring 2011

Published

Hello Everyone,

Well I am currently looking to apply to TWU for Spring 2011. I thought it would be nice to start a thread because I am sure we will all need a good support system. The whole application process is so STRESSFUL!

Lets Get It Started!!!

I see that a few of you have been talking about the TEAS Test. I took the TEAS for another school and made a 90+ composite score without even studying. I am not saying this to brag but rather give you all an idea of what is possible without studying too hard. I am also 28, so I am NOT fresh out of high school, and I have forgotten some things over the years.

Just a little hint about the TEAS...there are a FEW chemistry balancing formulas. I totally guessed since I was not prepared and I hate hate hate chemistry. I already had the study book for the NET and Cliff Notes for the HESI A2 and that seemed to get me through. Overall, I believe if you go into the test relaxed, confident, and focused, you will do just fine.

Good luck to those that will be testing soon.

For those who have taken the test or registered, was there a lot of choices and availability for testing times? How far in advance did the dates go? I hope to take mine in late July or August, but I can't see the dates until I pay.

Hello Kelly and Serene, welcome to the TWU thread!

kelly,

I believe the Quant lit course # is math 1013 :) And please post the TEAS dates whenever you can. I am also planning on taking the exam towards the end of summer. I received the study guide for the TEAS V exam but I have not even opened the book lol I have to say it is very thick compared to the Hesi A2 study guide!

Thanks again missmoe! :)

Thanks MissHopeful! I registered and paid for the test yesterday, but need to schedule today. I have a feeling the dates will be for Pearson Vue Testing Center in Austin only, but it should give you an idea. I started looking at the study guide yesterday, it is very comprehensive. The ATI site offers online practice tests so I might check into that if I feel the need.

Thanks for the course number, I was confused...I thought you guys were talking about some literature class. I've already taken that Math class, thank goodness.

I will post the dates tonight.

Have a great weekend!!!

OK, I scheduled my exam. They verified the dates below are valid for the Austin testing site only.

July 16, 22, 23, 26, 29

August 2, 3, 17, 23, 30

Notice the jump in August from 2nd to 17th, not sure why, but I'm glad I have it scheduled now.

Good Luck Everyone:)

Keep up with those testing dates. Don't assume that since the deadline for TWU is far away, that there is time to take the test. I messed up and had to take the test in San Antonio because I thought I had time. I live in Houston!!!

Does anyone know anything about the part time track at TWU? Under sample plans it says there is a part time sample program for basic track students. I already have my 4 year degree and can't do a "fast track" program as I work, have a 17 month old, and a husband!! Just wondering if anyone knows anything about it and if it is offered at the Houston campus. I don't think a part time program is offered anywhere else. I emailed TWU but haven't heard back. Thanks!

MissMoe27, I need to register for the TEAS too! Are you telling me there are no more open dates for Houston locations?? I really don't want to drive to Austin or SA to take the test.

Sorry if I was misunderstood:confused:. I was trying to say to keep up with the test dates...I did not keep up when I was trying to take the test in January and I HAD to drive to San Antonio because it was the only test left.

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum, and I love how I can communicate with people that are going through the same process as me :) . I am also applying for spring '11 at TWU. I just payed for my TEAS today and will be calling tomorrow to see what days they have available for Houston, I will post the days as soon as I know so all you guys can know :) . I'm currently taking my prereq in HCC and Im applying for UT, and praire view also, but my first choice is TWU. I just want to keep my options open. I wish everyone the best of luck!

Hello everyone!

I am now in the process for applying to TWU in Houston.

I've taken the HESI A2 recently and did not do very well in the AP section...I will have to retake that after I complete my AP2 course this summer. I am also looking into applying at UT houston, UHV in Sugarland and Praire View.

I recently bought the study guide for the TEAS V but have not had a chance to open it yet! Summer classes are about to start and this forum will have to be where I go to talk to others in my shoes!

Good luck everyone!

hey sooo im a little confused about the BIOL 4344-Pathophysiology course. im applying for spring 2011 and its NOT a prereq right... so could i just complete it upon acceptance bc ive been reading some other posts and i see some people are taking it in the fall
