Amo soap opera novella?

Dianah  I didn't realize retirement was coming  up so quickly

Work was unusually busy yesterday, though by the end of  the day things had slowed down again.  Was feeling kinda off and kinda down, not  sure why.  Might have had to do with the audits, mine was very good with only minor issues found, but I find that I tend to get down with even mild criticism

Made a run to the library.  Seem to do a lot of interlibrary loan, guess our library's collection is pretty small.

Going to get a new phone, as my current plan and network are going away.  Took a while to confirm, wasn't sure if this was a marketing gimmick.  Found a good deal  but will have to get to a store in order to claim it.

Going to be in the upper 30s today, will be cooler by the weekend

Good morning!

Joe, hope work goes well for you.  Sorry you're feeling down.

sirI, glad there were no tornadoes.  Hope you got some rest.

J22, hopefully didn't have any direct contact with anything that could have infected you from the rats.

Amo, no the photos that accompany the threads on the homepage don't bother me.  I like the homepage better with photos.  I agree with the suggestion to just start a new novella rather than pine over the old one.  It's dead and gone.

Davey, that gif is still creepy, especially that guy in the middle.  LOL

Dianah, glad that you had a good time.  Can't believe it's time to countdown to retirement already!

I had a decent day but was mostly lazy.  I did make it to the gym and grocery store.  I had some dinner plan but got to hungry and didn't cook but rather ate what I had on hand and some chips and hummus.

Booked a yoga class.  Have a staff meeting with the new manager this afternoon but I'm going to phone in and not go in person.

Perhaps we can make a naturally occurring condition a selling point?

Retirement is a deliciously boring routine of art & TCB.

32 degrees when I drove to work this morning. And they're talking about a little snow Thursday night.

Stars -- I feel for you RE: Nannie. I commiserate with you. Hubs refers to his days with his mom as "groundhog day": "I'm going home" "I've gotta go to the bathroom" "Where is the bathroom?" (even if it's been 15 minutes since the last time she was there) "Are you going to get me anything to eat?" "Can I go to the kitchen?" "Can I come out here and sit with you?" Sometimes she actually compliments me -- if I'm cooking or cleaning she'll say "You're a good one". After working hard in the kitchen the other night, I asked Hubs if he could finish something up (I forget what) and he said "not tonight" since he was still having back pain. She said "You're not being fair, David." (David is her deceased son, but she was doing pretty well to remember that much. I'll give her at least partial credit). At least you don't have to worry about tree limbs crashing down. To quote Forrest Gump, "That's one less thing".

Joe -- sorry you're feeling down. I also get sensitive to even mild criticism. Just a down feeling, not anger or even guilt.

Tweety -- shooting at or near the bowling alley?! Scary!

sirI -- glad no tornadoes this time. It's getting to be that time of year.

I told my SJW sons that there is no way I can boycott Diet Coke. I need it in order to function.

Still slogging through trying to get a handle on this job. Small bits of the picture are coming into focus. Will be out Thursday because Hubs is having a colonoscopy. I have a book to read and will probably skulk around this site, too, while I wait.

Hullo. Weather is a little nicer today. I'm about to walk over to the post office that is about 4 blocks away to mail youngest ds his gym shoes that he left behind. He's a little irritated that he didn't drive to his training, because his hotel/motel is in the middle of a business park with few dining options. He was going to get an Uber to go to a grocery store to at least get some healthy snacks.

Today I have 2 on line meetings, and am waiting for call backs, as usual. I nearly yelled at very nice, OCD coworker yesterday. She hasn't followed up on 2 referrals and yet she spent the afternoon worrying about TB in the Ukranian refugees, THAT AREN'T HERE YET!. I am blaming the gabapentin for my decreased irritation threshold. And she's fussing about having to train a new supervisor, "but they all leave after a year". Maybe because you drive them nuts?

Oh, dear, maybe my hubs will turn in to Ado's and Stars' MILs? He has certain phrases that he will always say on a particular cue. Every time a certain new host comes on he has to say, "I just don't like that guy." Okay, change the channel. And he has ranted about minimum wage hikes more that I can count. But staff only stay long enough to find a better paying job.

Ack, tornadoes so soon!?

Joe, I don't take criticism well, either. But if I'm doing something wrong, I would rather find out sooner rather than later, if that makes any sense.

Dianah, are they having a big party for you at work? I should think you deserve it.

Tweety, nothing wrong with a lazy day from time to time. One of my favorite dinners is popcorn.

I have pretty much given up soda. I will enjoy a diet Dr. Pepper as a special treat. They taste so good when you haven't had one in a while.

Stars, I would be tempted to invent a story about a giant woodpecker who felled the trees and is bringing reinforcements to chop them up. LOL. ?Alas, there is no woodpecker emoji.

Hi amo, I see you are posting.

Later, kids.

Hello.

Busy day. Meetings here, too. Was still able to make a meatloaf for tonight w/creamed potatoes and English peas.

I made a mistake with Sunday's music and had to rearrange things before the office printed the Order of Service. Also, had to manage how I sustained the 3rd stave on the Pipe Organ on one of the selections. Turned out o.k.

Cold again. Temps dropped. "They" are predicting a plunge in temps with "wintry mix" for Friday night/early Saturday. When I read that, I just shook my head and giggled.

@Joe NightingMale, hope your mood lifted during the day. What kind of phone did you get?

Hope your day has been good to you, @Tweety.

Hi, @Davey Do. You, too, hope your day has been a good one.

Good luck to your husband and his procedure, @Ado Annie.

Hello, @amoLucia. Sorry about the novella. ?

Hey there, @nursej22. Hope things are less irritating.

See you all later. Have a great night.

Late afternoon, cloudy and cloudier, but so far...no rain. Temps dropped overnight by 20 degrees, so it isn't like late Spring anymore.

Nannie is thrilled, because she has been watching the neighbor load up a bunch of logs and limbs; he is on his third little 'trailer' load. She still worries about how he'll be able to lift up big pieces of the trunk. Welp, I says to her, I says: "First you cut it up into big pieces, and then cut those up into medium pieces, and cut 'em down until you get the smaller size pieces that you can lift into the trailer." (Yes, I am a rocket scientist.?)

Joe, new phone. Ugh. I know when they all change over to 5G, I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get one of them-there annoying phones, again. I will ask the guy at Verizon (our carrier) to pick me out the very simplest phone he can come up with, and then give me tutorials about ONLY the basic things for which I use a phone. Not all that scrolling-scrolling-scrolling---blah!

I get to pretty much ignore the ads/pix that accompany this site I have Ad Remover, so I don't have to get the whole screen squooshed up with more photos and offers. I can't deal with all the ever-changing popping up and all that busy stuff. Only photos I look at are the ones y'all tuck into your posts.

Tweety, "Even doing nothing is doing something." I don't know to whom I might attribute that quote, but I LIKE it!

Uhhh...."Daily Dose of Creepiness"??? All I can say to that is DAVEY DON'T!

Ado, Groundhog Day is the, I mean *THE* correct description!!! I can identify with the same ol', same ol' questions and comments. We get to hear her many opinions about the news/weather people....specifically the men's hair and the color-match of suits, shirts, and ties (!) and the women's hairdos/clothing. The one that slays me every time is: "If he/she knew what he/she looks like with that hair...."   I just gotta say, "Nannie! They DO know what they look like and THAT'S the hairdo they chose."  She shakes her head, makes a face, and says "Psshhtttsk!"

j22, I'm afraid my hubby will be taking on some of Nannie's habits, like forgetting something we've talked about several times already and ....telling me the same recent anecdote 3-4 x in the same 24 hrs....and worst, yelling the same opinions he has of, well, name anybody in politics and/or the medical field, W.H.O., CDC, certain reports, and somethings I would be ashamed for any one else to hear. Sometimes I have to say "YES! WE KNOW how you feel about that!" But, to be fair, the other night when the State of the Union address was on, he was nice enough to clear out and let me listen to it; I just wanted to be able to hear it minus his commentary.

Tonight I will be finishing the last of the four OUTLANDER-series books I was given as a present. I'm going to have to search out the next few of the 10 books in the series, or I will be going through a shaky detox....

Hello to BCg, amoLu, sirI, and whomever I missed mentioning!

You know what?  ? Frankly, I don't much care for this new 'arrangement' + design of allnurses. But no big deal. By the time I get used to it, it will change again.

Just had to say it, no offense to anyone.

And Davey I'm glad that you are glad to see me on the yellow side, but (shrugs) I'm only here because the blue side has disappeared.

Th-th-th-that's all folks! (for now)

Hello to all!

No one at work has approached me to ask what I want, but I know they will be planning something.  My colleague (who will be retiring a few months after me), when I mentioned "I wish I could just quietly leave.  Here one day, gone the next,"  said "no, you have been here awhile.  Let them honor you."  So I will put up with it.  'spoze I have no choice.

Work was OK today, -- actually, it was pretty good for my first day back.  Not too, too busy so I could get caught up on a few things.  I do ordering and f/u for the post-TAVR patients (the aortic valve replacements done from the femoral artery):  Cardiologist appointment, echocardiogram, EKG, and labs 23-75 days after the TAVR (Registry requirements), and then same, only + or - 60 days on either side of the first anniversary of the TAVR.  Plus keeping up our spreadsheet of patients referred to other hospitals for CABG, Watchman, and TAVR procedures.  Faxing requests to other facilities for records, and once we receive those records, getting them to the MD who needs them (we have eight Cardiologists and 15 Fellows).  Then when they are done with the records, we enter orders and send the records to HIMS to be scanned into the patient's electronic record, for future use.  Fielding phone calls for information, medication renewals, condition changes (and sometimes having to convince patients to go to the ER, that we cannot help them over the phone!)...  all kinds of phone calls!

Well, enough of that. ?  We had a nice dinner and watched a Father Brown episode.  I think dh will fall asleep soon.  I will make my lunch for tomorrow and then get ready for bed.

Have a good evening.  herring, wherever you are, we miss you!
