Hello to all I have a question about tubal ligation. Is it possible to get pregnant after having a tubal ligation Tied, Clipped and burned.

In short, yes. Not likely, but the only things that are truly 100% are abstinence and a hysterectomy.

Yes you still can but it's very rare. And just as an FYI, there is a terrible condition called tubal ligation syndrome...so if you or whoever get it done, read about this extensively. I was going to have the surgery but not anymore.

Yes, it is. Rare but most certainly possible. And it can be dangerous so if you suspect post TL pregnancy, best get a diagnosis ASAP to r/o ectopic pregnancy.

Ok,...I'll bite.....what is tubal ligation syndrome?
And yes is is possible, though very unlikely, to become pregnant after a tubal,..if I remember correctly your chance of ectopic pregnancy is actually higher after a tubal.

Yes it is possible! I had it happen to me! The TL failure happened mid nursing school none the less:chuckle I had what is referred to as the pomeroy procedure where the fallopian tubes are, in my case post c-cection, cut sutured and cauterised. They even took out a cm or two of tube at that time. Essentially you are left with 2 segments of tube still connected to uterus and the distal ends in the vicinity of the ovaries. Apparently in my case one of the tubes somehow grew back together. This took place in 2002 and in the summer of 2007 I wasn't feeling well and thought the symptoms were pg symptoms. They were! In Feb of 2008 I delivered a beautiful baby girl with no compllications. My docs advised that if I didn't want anymore children I have the procedure repeated but I didnt want to shell out the additional bucks, and as I get older my fertility is declining anyway so I chose not to do that. But who knows, it could happen again look out for baby #5!
also, as pp have wisely said a pregnacy after TL is overwhelmingly usually a tubal pregnancy which is a medical emergency because of the risk of hemorage. I was 7 weeks when I discovered my pregnancy(I often have irregular cycles ) and I had to have an immediate ultrasound to confirm the location of the pg. So please be aware of this

YES,YES,YES!!!!!! Worked in an inner city teaching hospital---lots of research with lots of cases. The information say it occurs in about 1 of roughly 300 pregnancies.. Where I'm from, seems MUCH more often
