TSU fall nursing program

U.S.A. Tennessee

Has anybody that applied to TSU's fall associates program heard anything yet?

It is good to have because there are a ton of extra questions for each chapter. You may be able to share it with someone.

So, Should I get just the access code, or the access code + etext? I think the etext is just a copy of the book in electronic form, which is not worth an extra $70 if I already have the hard copy.

Thanks

I think you're right. Maybe if you have a tablet or something, it might be good. Those books are HEAVY.

Concerning the books where you have to buy an access code...I think they all come with an etext and I'm not sure that you can buy JUST the access code. The Statistics class I took over the summer used the same company ("Pearson" I believe) and I already had the book but still had to buy the access code for "MyStatLab" which was like $80 and it came with an etext even though I didn't need it...BUT maybe other classes, while the same company, may sell JUST the access code...I prefer to have a hard copy that I can flip through wherever I am so hopefully I won't have to shell out all that cash...Guess we'll see :uhoh3:

Good point. If I remember correctly, some classmates of mine were able to buy the codes from Pearson's site for $50 or so...?

Amazon sells access codes for ~$45. Access code + etext $115. If you buy the access code only, you can buy the etext as an extension later. I confirmed this on the Pearson site

MyNursingLab -- Access Card -- for Kozier & Erb's Fundamentals of Nursing

ISBN-10: 0137065736

$45

MyNursingLab with Pearson eText -- Access Card -- for Kozier and Erb's Fundamentals of Nursing

ISBN-10: 0132559951

$105

I absolutely hate paying that much money for a single access code...but I guess we have to do what we have to do. When I took that statistics course our only option was to buy the MyStatLab with the etext...I need to take out a separate student loan for books lol

If anyone doesn't have all the required textbooks just yet, you should go to Half.com and just enter the ISBN numbers and you can actually rent them for pretty cheap...that's what I've done with most of my textbooks...

Good luck! Be sure to safe some $$$ up to buy your books before you get any $$$ assistance for the fall! You can expect to spend >$1K just in needed supplies, books, etc. You'll be lucky though to get a reading assignment prior to the beginning of school --- be sure to do that reading! You want to be ahead as much as possible...

1000 dollars!?!? lol. Even if you bought all your supplies from the school it wouldn't be that much.

It would probably be OVER $1000 if you paid full price for all of your textbooks and supplies (uniform, nurse pack which is like $170-ish, stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, etc.)

...girl who goes there told me it was 726.44 for everything (including scrubs, shoes, ect...) the first two semesters. She got her books on Amazon.com. It could be over a 1000 if you buy your books new FROM the school.

This is the list of her books she needed for last semester: copied and pasted it for you good folks

-Ok, they might change them but these are the ones I had to have.

Bates guide to physical examination by bickley 10th edition

Clinical nursing skills and techniques by perry and potter 7th edition

Nursing diagnosis handbook by ackley and ladwig 9th edition

Dosage calculations by pickar and abernethy 8th edition

Professional nursing concepts and challenges by chitty and black 6th edition

Pharmacology and the nursing process by lilley, collins, harrington and snyder 6th edition

Fundamentals of nursing by perry and potter 7th edition

I think that might be it plus the study books and things but those were extra. -

Those aren't the books that we're using this semester and I could only hope to only spend around $700 on everything for 2 semesters but I don't see that happening...Even books on Amazon are not THAT much cheaper...I've checked. I may need to sell my first born to afford all this stuff...totally kidding...
