May 28, 201115 yr Author I got mine last week but for the TSU campus. Congrats! I'm super excited!! - kinda nervous too
Jun 2, 201115 yr Good luck! Be sure to safe some $$$ up to buy your books before you get any $$$ assistance for the fall! You can expect to spend >$1K just in needed supplies, books, etc. You'll be lucky though to get a reading assignment prior to the beginning of school --- be sure to do that reading! You want to be ahead as much as possible...
Jun 3, 201115 yr Author Has anybody received the letter that was supposed to be delivered by the 1st? I just re-read my acceptance letter and it says we should get more info by then but here it is the 3rd and it's making me nervous. I'm hoping it really details how much $ we need up front, and what classes to register for because i need to know how much of my student loan to get. Hopefully it will arrive tomorrow. Oh, and does anybody have a good idea for a job to do while in school? I need to get a part time job but i'm trying to find something low energy that doesn't require me to be certified in anything. I'm thinking about trying to find a 'sitter job', but most require CNA status so i'm not sure what i'm going to do.
Jun 3, 201115 yr I have not received mine either. I called the office yesterday and left a message. No reply yet. I was feeling a bit nervous. Now I am not the only one. They may just be a bit late.
Jun 4, 201115 yr There are probably running late. Don't fret, they usually have a ~4hr "orientation" meeting to give you a heads up as to what to buy, read, etc.
Jun 4, 201115 yr Don't worry about registering, yet, either. When they have their "orientation", they'll usually assign the CRN #s for each person to use for their assigned sections. If someone registers for the wrong one, they'll let them know.
Jun 4, 201115 yr If you can afford it, limit the hours you work in school. You'd be suprised! After your 1st semester of Fundamentals, you'll be able to qualify for CNA jobs, too!
Jun 4, 201115 yr Author thanks for the info, yea the letter says orientation is in late august, i just hope i dont have to wait that long to know what hours i'll be at school.... i like to prepare for stuff like that way in advance or i just end up sit worrying about it all. Yea i'll work part time but prefer to find a job that i can study at when its slow. I heard about being cna cert. after the first semester or so, and there's also nurse extern jobs out there.
Jun 10, 201115 yr Author Has anybody received the information that was 'supposed' to be sent out on June 1st? It still hasn't come to me. I left the nursing dept. a voicemail yesterday and they haven't returned my call yet
