Trying for Gwinnett Tech 2014

Published

So I am gunning for Gwinnett techs fall 2014 class and wanted to start a forum for us to show support and exchange info. I am doing my last prerequisite now and am excited to do this. Best of luck to everyone. Lets do this thang!:woot::coollook::rolleyes::laugh:;):bookworm:

I know our group of testers are not trying to help anyone else by adding input on here i guess lol. They scurrrrrd haha

You don't see people trying to get in bc it's not worth it. Their credits are non transferable to regular schools, so if you want to further your education, you will need to start over at a real college or university. Beware of these for-profit higher education facilities. You are better off going to a community college of state university. Look at the reviews on Gwinnett Tech. almost 90% of interviewed students state they would not recommend the school to prospective students. It has a horrible reputation on par with Concord and Dade Medical. They also cannot substantiate the claims of jobs placement, no school can. These people are predators, and look to prey on people that are desperate for a piece of paper.

I am not sure where your misinformation is coming from. As long as you attend (and graduate) an accredited nursing program, which GTC is, and accredited just like other community colleges, you will have no trouble sitting for your NCLEX. Once you have your RN license, many programs offer rn-bsn degrees. A vast majority of them are completely online.

I agree with Janellybelly. The school has excellent numbers and is highly competitive. The director and staff that are directed toward solely prospective nursing students also mentioned to us on several occasions that they do have the ability to allow us to gain a bachelor's with our school accreditation. So that would be false advertising and I doubt that is the case.

You can look up what schools take the credits, there isn't one state school on their list. You can sit for your NCLEX, but their failure rate for those sitting is at almost at 50%. Just be careful, you don't want to waste that $$$. An accredited nursing school, and an accredited school are two totally different thing. The credits do not have to transfer. The fact that they review your transcripts to see what may or may not transfer should raise serious flags. Any public university or college credit will transfer. It shouldn't even be an issue. Their 100% job placement claim should also concern you. I would speak to as many previous students as you can before giving them a dime. I don't see many Gwinnett grads on here though.... hmmm..... that's a little odd, no?

I would start by googling, gwinnett tech failure rates, and go from there.

What exactly does, excellent numbers mean? Never heard a school referred to in those terms. They painted numbers all over the exterior walls?

I am sorry, but you need to stop paying attention to gossip or hearsay and actually do some adequate research.

It makes me raise an eyebrow that you are so insistent on trying to make the school sound bad.

The nursing school is accredited by ACEN formerly known as NLNAC. It's the same exact accreditation as Georgia Perimeter, etc.

GTC has a high reputation and is competitive due to how affordable it is to attend there. People who have other degrees can easily enter another accelerated nursing program; however, have preferred attending a tech or community college because of the cost.

As per your accusations of NCLEX pass rates, GTC is doing just fine:

Anything else?

I love how someone who's not even in the same state as we are thinks that they know anything about the school. Gwinnett Tech's nursing school is accredited, the school is in the university system of Georgia, and all of the courses transfer to any other school. They have an average NCLEX pass rate of about 94% over the past 3 years. I love the school, the facilities that they have, and all of the nursing instructors. Don't let someone who doesn't have a clue about the school discourage you. It's a great program.

The above information is totally inaccurate. Gwinnett tech is NOT a for profit school, the nursing program IS accredited and the credits are transferable to other schools. Where exactly are you getting your information from?

voices in this persons head :nono:

Okay so only 3 more days of testing and it will be done. I have had 2 friends fail by only a few points. it just seems like everyone is making in the 80s this time around.....we shall see. I am so anxious, but ready to know!!!!
