NCLEX is a national exam and is the same regardless on state. All questions come from the same pot regardless on where you sit the exam. Unless you have a SSN or immigrant/work visa we do not currently recommend CA for initial license and would suggest you take the time to read this forum as much has been written on California to why we say this.
If it makes you feel more reassured that NCLEX is the same regardless of states, I took my exam for CA licensing in CA, but I had a question in the exam regarding the appropriate nursing diagnosis for a person living in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I didn't quite get the question. If NCLEX were based on the state you're applying for, then it wouldn't be asking me about LA now, would it?

NCLEX exams are conceptualized by NCSBN and not the licensing state. That's why they gave you such question regarding cultural awareness. I guess, if NCLEX is made by the state BON, you can still encounter such question because the BON knows that you cannot choose your patient and they might come from all places and all walks of life.

Hi guys! Since I decided to review for NCLEX, I was came across these 2 states (Vermont and California) into which ill be applying for. Ive been asking people who have taken the exam as to which state can you benefit from (if you pass) and what LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY their exams are.So Is there any truth about California having more difficult NCLEX questions than Vermont?
. A lot of people who took California said that it's harder because of its state's quality and standards. And people who took Vermont said all NCLEX lvl of difficulty are the same regardless of the State you applied for.
So could anyone tell me the truth behind all of these?..feel free to share..
Godbless everyone...:heartbeat
