Thankyou tlukman, I just did and nobody answers :uhoh3:

I went to Truman and asked Nursing Dept. A pretty young lady at the back corner (she always sits there) told me that they would start sending emails to inform about orientation next Friday (6/3/2011). We will see. :)

I too was accepted into the program. I am trying to find out info on materials to read over the summer. I think getting a head start on the reading is a good idea.

See you all soon!

It sounds like orientation will be in July. I was told we will be required to have all of immunizations, titers, other requirements.. completed by then?????????. All this info supposedly will be covered in the package we will receive (which I was told was hopefully going out the end of this week). In terms of reading this summer, a previous Truman grad said it wouldn't hurt to start reading the Med/Surg text, I think by Mosby.

Re: Study groups. Does it make sense to wait until we sign up for classes and know who our instructors are before setting up study groups? Are the exams different from instructor to instructor, or are they all the same?

Thanks for the info. :)

Just got an email from Vanisha Harris at Truman. Orientation is Aug 15 at Malcom X and Aug 16 at Truman. Also got a bunch of attachments for medical records and background check. Medical stuff, background check and CPR all need to be completed and returned by July 15.

I received the same email.

I know this may be too early to tell, but are clinicals once a week, first year or twice?

Today May 31 2011, I just got an email from Truman about Orientation and things we needed to get done before July 15th. I hope you guys got it too.

Specializes in Emergency Room.

I heard that if you get the morning times for the orientation, you are there to register for the morning classes and vice-versa. I don't night classes is there a way to get back onto mornings? Any ideas folks? Btw. Congratulations to us all!

I guess this is kind of par for the course--I didn't get anything. I didn't get the email I was sent saying I got into Truman either. Thanks so much for posting--at least I know now to ask them where my email is.

You need to call or go to Truman Nursing dept. Maybe they mistakenly type wrong email. We all got two kind of emails. One was about all information and the other one was frequently asked question. We need to get CPR certification, Medical history, examination, drug test, immunization, and background check done by July 15th. I hope you get the emails soon.

I received the same email.

If you look at the class schedules, it looks like there is only one clinical per week.

This is going to give me a heart attack! According to the FAQ email, the order in which we register is a lottery?! I have to get either the 5pm or 6pm night class, otherwise I'm going to have to drop! It is aggravating that we are registering so close to the start date. I'd like to know sooner rather than later if I'm going to be able to make this work with my schedule.

Also, is the other poster right? If you were assigned morning orientation then you are going to get morning classes and if assigned the evening orientation you are signing up for evening classes? On my application I indicated I would prefer night classes and I am scheduled for the evening orientation.

There is only one clinical per week in the first year, and then two in the second.

They were sending my emails to the wrong email address. I hope to get them soon.
