Great info 3boys n a dog!! This will help me to prepare before the class starts.

Still no letters? I still have not gotten mine yet..

Congratulations to all you guys that made it into Truman. What was your journey like? Was there a long wait list? A friend of mine is trying to get in there and just would like some insight into the process.

I have not received any letter yet either. Has anyone happened to call and get any insider info on when the Truman orientation will be? I called last week and they told me they would meet last Friday, 5/13 to make a decision on the orientation date, and then send out the letters sometime this week.

I have not received a letter yet either. We should just wait. As long as we got the confirmation email from Dr. Gurney, we will be fine.

Hi cpsomer,

I was on campus last week. Sounds like we recieved similar info. So we continue to wait.

Answering YDBUSH30: Make sure you attend Nursing Seminar at Truman to get all information. PreReq: Math118 or 125, Chem121/100, Bio121, Esl101, and Compass Reading score 90 or higher must be done before register. This year GPA cut off was 3.30. I heard last year was 3.00. GPA grade is based on all classes you completed (not just only prereq). This year it was not based on points eventhough at nursing seminar they kept saying to use points. I hope this information will help you.

Hello everyone and congrats,

Is anyone taking pharmocology this summer? Please let me know. I will also being starting class this fall with you. I will be taking classes in the evening this fall as well. I will also head up a study group for nursing 101 in the fall as well as a prep study for the NCLEX exam that we will all have to take in 2013.

Please let me know if you or anyone that you know would be interested . I have held study groups at Truman in the past with a 100% straight A result for everyone in the group. Thanks and great job everyone

I would be interested. Only honesty allowed though-I am a very serious student and expect the same of the others. I don't have time to waste. Thanks.

Is it just me or does zbb13's comment sound a bit pretentious? What does honesty have to do with anything? Either we will be beneficial to one another or we won't. handwiting was on the same stuff with the "ghetto" comments about Daley. *sigh* I hope there are some serious, but seemingly less uptight students in this class somewhere. I just want to learn all that I can, pass the NCLEX and maybe meet some decent folks that I may work with in the future. Getting into Truman is an amazing opportunity compared to the other nursing school mills out there. lol...stop sucking the excitement out of it.

Maybe I'm off base, and comments sound off via message board. I hope I'm wrong. :twocents:

I didn't mean to be pretentious. I didn't put anyone down. I have a very, very hectic life, and I need to spend my study time studying (if you knew me, you would understand why I'm saying this, believe me). That's all I was saying.

Re: the "honest" comment, I just meant that I would be more than happy to join a study group if all members were being honest and wanted to seriously study, rather than chat a lot (I do love to chat, but I can't stick around and do that very often because I have a lot of really huge obligations). I am not that uptight, just very limited in terms of my free time.

As another poster says on a regular basis,

"Peace"--I am really excited about Nursing School, and I don't want to bring anyone "down".

I would like to join as well as my other five friends. We have been doing study groups for last three semesters. We all are straight A students too. We are taking CPR class in June this summer as it will be required before Nursing program start in Aug. I am taking Terminology this summer. If you are taking Pharm this summer, take Pharm 104 not Pharm 103. You will be a head of the game. Good luck to you all. Congrats! Hopefully to meet you all in person soon. I will keep you update when we receive a letter and please do the same.
