hi to all..here i am again having trouble with my nclex california application..i am now waiting for my ATT..the problem is my signature in my NCLEX application is different with my passport signature..I know i got myself into a big big trouble..My clinical instructor told me that i will have a big problem with that because of two diffrent signatures. My plan A is to cancel my NCLEX California and apply to other state like Vermont so I will have to follow my passport signature. Will the Board of Nursing in California forfeit or delete my name in my NCLEX application to their state? My plan B is to really have to process a new passport. but having to change a new pasport is really hard..there's a lot of processing to make. Both of them are just so complicated...what should I do? please help me..i feel so hopeless...:o

i had 2 different signatures as well and it gave me no problem. i had my signature when i was single which is in my passport and when i got married. that is the one that i used in Nclex....

Sticky situation, my first step would be to call Cali boards and ask them what exactly you can do, maybe you don't have to apply to another state and follow your passport signature, that might make situations worse- who knows?, just call the Cali boards and tell them you problem. I actually had two different signatures on my NY NCLEX application because my state I.D signature was for ex: FIRST LAST and on my application I put F.LAST instead of spelling out my entire name as it was on my I.D card. So I just put both signatures on my application to avoid problems and it went through. Good Luck to you, the boards are probably used to these things happening your probably not the first- believe me!

Lets start at the beginning. You applied to CA for licensure as an RN. You did not submit any application to them for the NCLEX exam, as there is not one to complete. In order to get the ATT, you need to register with Pearosn-Vue and pay the fee to them. Have you actually done that? If you have done that, then suggest that you stick with that. That is who is going to be checking over the signatures. Not CA BRN, they are not at the exam when you take it.

There is no NCLEX application, and the NCLEX exam is only the final step in the licensing process. Makes no sense to try to change it now.

How is your signature different? Can you be specific as to what format that you used?

My signature when I applied to the Board of nursing was my complete name(first, middle, last). My signature in my passport is only my first and last name. Already passed my nclex and no problem at all.

Can't you get a new passport? I think that might be easier. People do that when they get married, if that is your case, or your name changed, that is a very honest and legal reason for the names to be different, especially if you can provide documentation to prove it.

Sorry, but there is absolutely no reason to get a new passport.

Until this person states what they did differently, to offer advice like that which does not help the situation makes no difference at all.

If it is something as simple as not using the middle name in both places, or just a first initial and last name, there is no reason to do anything.

Notice also that the op is in the Philippines, and chances are that their clinical instructor has never had a license in the US.
