A while ago I posted asking about the nursing program application process at Tri-C. I just wanted to update that I received acceptance into the Spring 2010 semester . The process was actually pretty fast. I am very excited. Hope to hear from others that will also start at Tri-C in the Spring.
NewStart2010:yeah:
Anybody have the definitive list as to what Vaccinations/Tests you need to have before starting the program? I need to make an appointment to see my physician in June might as well kill two birds with one stone. TIA.
The ones I know for sure are MMR, Tetorifice, and Varicella (or proof of having had the chicken pox). I'm not sure if you can show proof of previous vaccinations or if you have to get titers done. You will also need a 2-step TB test (which involves 4 doctor visits) and I'd imagine the hepatitis B series.
OKAY FREAKING OUT.....just got an email from evolve about my HESI A2 results and I looked them up online....it says Cuyahoga Community College distance testing PN...did I take the wrong test? I am not applying to the LPN program, when I sent the email to elsevier to register I put down RN...I did not even notice it on the day of the test...please tell me it is the same test..if I have to take it again I may lose it.
Okay freaking out even more.....there are three versions of the A2 RN, PN and health professions....what am I going to do? I can't imagine taking another standardized test when this whole mix up was not my fault...none of my paperwork indicated there were different versions. When I took the NET and missed the cutoff by one question it was the same exam for both programs just different cutoff percentages....i cannot believe this...someone does not want me to go to nursing school i swear.
Nothing I have indicated there was more than 1 A2 test. Not any of the emails or results mention that I took the A2 RN exam. It just said I was taking the A2 exam or had taken it. Only thing is on the results page it says A2-V1 Math A2-V1 Vocabulary ect. Although I think that may refer to this being Version 1 of the exam.
I just signed up and took the Admissions Assessment. That's all it was called when I selected it from the drop down menu on the website I was e-mailed which was http://www.prometric.com/Elsevier/default.html. When I e-mailed them to get my eligibility ID, I Put "RN" for the program. Everything worked out fine on my end...
When I log into look at my scores it says
A2 Learning Styles
A2 Personality Profile
A2 V-1 Math
A2 V-1 Read Comprehension
etc etc etc
I don't see anything specifying RN, LPN, or health professions. Could you maybe attach a screen shot of what you are seeing?
mine says PN A2 V1 math etc....did everything right when i signed up put RN program in the email the email confirmation from prometric indicated I was taking the Admissions Assessment A2...which is what I scheduled on their site...there was no choice of version other than admissions assessment with critical thinking or with grammar I just took the Admissions Assessment...i am so screwed i know it...i guess i should call tri-c on monday....if i attach a screen shot my student id etc will be accessible to all...
So, I am thinking of applying to Tri-C. If I take Chemistry this summer (we don't need it at LCCC if we have high school chemistry) would I be able to get into the spring class? Or is there a waiting list?
According to Tri-C, the Spring 2011 start date is already full and they are currently placing for the Fall 2011 start date. There isn't a wait list at Tri-C. As soon as your application is complete, they place you in the next available class. The next available class is updated monthly on the Tri-C nursing website. It is a pretty slow process though. It took me probably 2-2.5 months to get accepted once I finished the prerequisites.
