when I was a nursing student the tougest situation I had was when I diligently reviewed for an exam or return demonstrations then having mental blocks on the actual day. it is as if the answer is right at the tip of my tongue but I can't recall it. maybe because I was anxious. lol

For myself, the toughest part of nursing so far has been having to do simulations. We have the Wiser mannequins that are programmed to have pulses, lung sounds, bowel sounds and more. They can talk, make sounds like they're vomiting, coughing, all sorts of things. In class, we are sent to the simulation room three at a time and we have to act out various situations. The rest of the students are in the classroom watching us on a projector. It is so terrifying because when you make mistakes, others can see you and give their opinions about what you did wrong and how you could have done it better.
is it true the final exam is the hardest part in nursing course? as far as i know that many student had failed in the final exam..
I think so. coz its the final exam already. it will determine how far you've learned. and if someone failed it, it can cause a big impact in your grade.
hurm well..how is it to adapt in order to manage good result in final exam..
why is it that many student had failed in the final exam??in your opinion, what are factors that cause this?
If students fail the exam, I think it's because they wait too long to study. You can't study for the final like you do regular exams, especially if you have a cumulative final like we have to have next week. I'm in my last rotation of classes, as a matter of fact, today was my last lecture of my nursing school career! I'm off to transitions which is when we do 192 hours of preceptorship at an area hospital on a med/surg floor. Anyway, I have my last final coming up next Thursday. I'm in Ob/Peds. The weekly exams are 50 questions worth 100 pts but the final is 100 questions worth 200 pts and is part new material (hematology, respiratory, cardiovascular, GI, GU and childhood malignancies) as well as all of the cumulative material we've learned thus far which is a mixture of pregnancy, childbirth, and then growth and assessment of infants through adolescents. Now do you think I can wait until a few days before the exam to try to cram? Hecks no! I have to start now and study a few hours each night. I don't try to pull all nighters because that's too taxing on the brain.

I think the toughest part of being a student nurse is having to prepare for the NCLEX lol Seriously I think it is having the confidence to know you are making the right decision and not second guessing oneself.

I hated clinicals. They don't give you a good picture of what real nursing is like at all.

Why is that? I haven't started clinicals yet so I am curious as to why you feel that way.
