Totally wrong?

I took the NCLEX today! I did it today because I felt ready to take it and being well prepared! I scored good on Kaplan and Saunders!
I had all 265 questions, all lot of meds, stuff I never heard of and was sure about 2 answers!
Can I be totally wrong that I was prepared? How can that happened?
I'm pretty sure I failed, all the signs are clear and I'm not surprise when I see the result on pearson Vue in 48 hours!
But how can I be so wrong abput my self?
I wasnt nervous that much, took some deep breaths and relaxed! I got more and more questions and my guts are telling me to take it again....!
Any hope for me? What else can I do?

First and foremost, step away from the computer, telephone, and just take a breath. There is no need to give yourself an ulcer waiting for the results. You'll find out in due time. Until you know for sure just relax.

If things turn out for the worst, there is always next time.

Well, I don't know what "signs" you're talking about; people certainly pass after having had all 265 questions, AND not being sure of any of them, AND being quite sure they DID fail.

Breathe.

Odds really are in your favor for passing. Remember that roughly 85% of all first-time test takers DO pass, regardless of whether they had 76 questions, 105 questions, 207, or all 265. Most do pass.

Did I mention you should breathe? :)

Have they changed the test? From what I read when I took it about 8 years ago was that approx 1 in 10 people would have to take all 265 questions regardless of how well they were doing at 75.

It is definitely a myth that there are some people that are picked out to take the whole test...maybe it used to be that way, but the way the CAT works is based on each answer given. the more you get right, the harder the questions become and if the computer can determine with a 95% accuracy rate that you either passed or failed in the first 75 questions the test will stop. However, if you are either 2.5% above or below the minimum competency line the computer will continue to give you more questions until it can determine the outcome.

Don't worry yourself to death...just like everyone else says, try to enjoy your next two days (as much as that is possible) and think positive.

It is funny because I completely understand exactly how you are feeling right now. I just got my results yesterday and I, too, was convinced that I had failed at 75 questions. i know several RN's at my job that got 265 questions and passed...it is not impossible by any means.

I thought so as well. I just took it (but graduated last year) and our instructors told us the same thing!! I got all of them! (So did a gf of mine who was 6 months pregnant with twins! Poor chick!)

Did you find out your results yet? The # of questions doesn't really matter...I know people who have passed and failed with 265!

I passed at 265 it is possible and I atudid extremely hard...so just bare with the wait. Let us know how you do...good luck

No, that's incorrect. If you've passed the statistical certainty milestone at 75 questions, you're done. NO ONE gets more questions than is necessary to determine competency. For some people, that's 75 questions. For others, it's 265. It's a myth that someone is "really passed" at 75 but has to take the whole 265 just 'because'. You get the number of questions needed, no more and no less.

Like I just wrote to someone else: you get the number of questions you need to prove competency to that blessed computer. That occurs somewhere between the min and the max. You don't do any more questions than needed to prove yourself.
