Took the NCLEX today

Published

I took the NCLEX RN this morning and it shut off at 75. I didn't get ANY math calculation questions!! Is that normal?? Anyone else not get any? OMG! I am so nervous I could puke. I have no idea how I did. The questions were NOT easy. Any chance my "quick results" could be ready before monday? The wait is surely going to kill me.

lots of priority+85=PASS "no worries"

lots of priority+85=PASS "no worries"

why is lots of priority and 85 good? I felt like a dummy taking them, like I didn't know anything. Does having a lot of priority questions mean something good? I hope so.:uhoh21:

everyone feels like they did bad. the test is set up so you get around 50% right/wrong. so in a normal test yeah you might have did bad but this is not a normal test. more important is the level of the questions your getting. priority questions are higher level questions "makes you think and use many aspects of nursing" and a very good sign. math questions are lower level questions "straight foreword" so not getting any is no big surprise nor is it a bad sign. 85 is the minimal questions for the pn right? all togather, is very encouraging. its hard, i know, but just do things to keep your mind busy. :smokin:

see, told ya, no worries, you nurse you.:icon_hug:

F.Y.I. now before you go off and start working on your RN it is customary to go out and get highly inebriated after reaching a milestone such as this. now you wouldn't want to break with tradition would you.

Congrats mis111!!!!

Yep party Found out at work today, was a cna, that since Im going to school contining the rn, they won't let me work as a lpn until I can train in the day, which would be 2 months off before spring session. they say the DON has to train me in the day. Can't an rn or another lpn train me at night. Did anyone ever hear of this. So I work as a cna at that pay for another two months even though Im a lpn. Doesn't sound right.:o

It is quite normal. Orientation is normally always done on the day shift, at least for the beginning of the orientation until they feel that you are ready.

You may still be at the same facility, but your role is going to drastically change.

This is one of the reasons that I do not recommend that many go for the LPN while they are in the RN program. In order to work as an LPN, you will need to go thru the regular orientation, and most do not have time for it.

Especially when they are still in school.

I posted a while back that I took the NCLEX-PN exam. My computer shut off at 85 questions (not 75...sorry, my mistake). Anyway...still waiting for my test results. AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! It has already been a week and I'm about to go crazy (My state unfortunately does not have the Quick Result service).:o

By the way...CONGRATs to all of you who passed!!!!!!!!!:balloons:

Specializes in Med-Surg.

Our night shift always has to put two weeks on day shift before going to nights.

Congrats.

Be happy that you did not get math questions, they are not considered a higher level question in most cases. The number of priority questions is much more important, same thing with the number of questions that you actually had.

Are you sure that it did not stop at 85? That is the minimum number of questions for the NCLEX-PN exam, 75 is the minimum for the NCLEX-RN exam.:)

Finally.....

Took NCLEX today. Don't know why but was preparing myself for 75 questions. When I got question #76 I thought ok, I'll get 85, then 95.

So I got 265 questions - only 2 questions select that apply, no math, almost all of them were priority questions.

So confused, I remebered the last question, but not sure in it. :o

2 nervous days ahead..........

gnom, hang in there so many of us have gone down that road. I know exactly how you feel about expecting 75 and then have to go the distance.

I wish you the best, passing best.
