I just finished school. I received my letter from the board of nursing saying that they received my application and gave me my user ID and password, they said the next letter I receive will be my authorization to test! I am so scared. I have maintained and A-B average the entire school year but I am still scared. When my time comes I hope I don't bomb the test. In Missouri, we have a 900 number you can call to get your results. I am so happy for you. Way to go! If anyone has any tips or advice I would sure appreciate it!

I TOOK THE NCLEX ON MY B-DAY (YES CAN ANYONE SAY SUCK?) THE PC SHUT OFF AFTER THE MIN AMOUNT OF QUESTIONS.....I WALKED OUT OF THE EXAM ROOM IN TEARS.....I WENT HOME AND DROWNED MY SORROWS IN A BOTTLE (2) OF WHITE WINE, THEN PAINFULLY WAITED UNTIL I COULD PLACE A CALL TO THE 900# TO FIND MY RESULTS......MY HUBBY HAD TO CALL AND FIND OUT FOR ME......I JUST COULD NOT MAKE THAT CALL.....HE CALLED, I PASSED, AND I AM NOW NURSING.

YOU WILL PASS, I KNOW THE WAIT TO GET YOUR RESULTS SEEMS LIKE A LIFE-TIME BUT KEEP US UPDATED , AND GOOD LUCK :)

Way to go...to future nclex takers I used the Saunders Comprehensive Review for Nclex PN...It was a very good review book...best of all was the enclosed cd that has 1500 questions set up in the nclex cat format...VERY HELPFUL!!!:)

Coming from someone who has now officially survived NCLEX :roll

My suggestions is to do the review, but especially look at the test-taking tips sections. I think they have some good advice. Read the questions completely, make sure you know what they are looking for.

Looking back there were a couple of questions that asked for an answer reguarding a specific thing...like what to do to help with pain, and then the choices you had were things that had to do with nursing for that particular diagnosis, but some did not address the pain issue...hope you get what I mean.

I think if you did well in school you should be okay. I did well on all my tests at school. The NCLEX was the first test I took that I actually thought I had failed.

GOOD LUCK!

Oh my goodness, I know what you went through. I just took my NCLEX VN on Jan 9, 2003. My test switched after about 85 questions. I cried in my car afterwards. I thought that I had studied so much but it just didn't matter. I went home and tried to look through all my textbooks for the answers to questions I remembered. Of I course in Cali where I live, you can't check within 3 days you have to wait up to four weeks. Well about 2 days ago , I got a letter and it said that I passed! I'm so happy but now I have to find a job. Good luck to you and me too.

Take care, Jenn the (yeah, new) LVN

MAN!! I took the NCLEX PN today and it was REALLY BAD!!! I don't see how I could possibly have passed that thing! I don't want to scare anybody out there who hasn't taken it...but I really didn't expect it to be as hard as it was. We got a book & CD during our school to study and it really didn't help.

If anyone has any good material on the test, please share it. The test taking strategies were more helpful than anything.

Say a prayer for me guys, I sure don't want to have to do that again.

I felt the same way, rent a bunch of movies to keep your mind off of it when youre really sick to your stomach. but you will pass.

Don't worry!! I took the nclex last Thursday. My test shut down after 85 questions. I PASSED!!!! It seemed awful to me too. I cried for two days. I felt as if I did not pass that test. I think that is how everyone feels that takes the test. I believe you have done fine.:nurse:

I took the nclex-pn on jan 12th, I thought the same thing there was no way I passed, shut off at exactly 100 and I felt like crap for the last week, found out today that I passed, I am a nurse, keep you head up and think positive. You Passed....................

After I took my NCLEX I left feeling like I bombed it. It turned off at 76 questions or so. I left the test center and sat on the steps. My sister in law went with me to take hers and she was already sitting there feeling the same. I have never heard of anyone coming out thinking WOW that was easy, I know I passed! The testing center gave us a number to call after 3 days to get our unofficial results. Three days is much better that the 6 weeks I waited when I took LVN boards.
