  1. When I worked LTC I was responsible for 62 residents. When working 3-11I was lucky enough to have a med tech to pass meds. When covering nights it was myself and 3 CNA'a and i was responsible for the same amount of residents including morning meds and tx's. Needless to say I got out of there pretty fast, It was very frustrating and I was running myself to death trying to make sure everyone was safe.
  2. Perhaps becoming very familiar with all the paperwork she/he will need to send with the pt. , and I am sure she knows to have any and all pertinent info that relates to the pt's conditon and what actions she took to stabilize until EMS could arrive. Becoming familair with policy and procedure could possibly help her feel more comfortable. And of course always good documentation. Hope this helps a little and hope she/he begins to feel better about it soon.
  3. (((((((0rrnlori)))))))) Brought tears to my eyes. I am so thankful we have Nurses such as yourself.

Hi Sherri, I live in that area. You didn't specify if you are going to be completing your RN or LPN, So being a LPN i can give you the ranges, in Butler your going to be looking at about 13 to 14 per hour in med/surg and about the same for LTC.. for an RN i would suppose the pay would be at least 5 to 6 bucks higher. Harrisonville area the pay would go up about 2 bucks for each. I do know you will have no problem securing a postion if you decide to relocate. Best of luck i hope this helps. :-)

Hello, I have a question.. went to er the other night, have been having chest pain on and off about 2 weeks no N/V ,no diaphoriesis, completely atypical. But had strained my left arm a couple weeks ago also while lifting an ac out of the window( i know stupid move but it had to come out of there) anyway, i had 2 good ekg's, all my lab were normal both times . they were all taken about 8 hours apart, i do have a family hx of CAD. So the doc wants to transfer me out to a cardiac specialist to have a heart catherization done. ok, i speak with the cardiologist on the phone, I ask for a stress test first and perhaps a echo just to see.. he says no you'll have to have a cath done anyway, now this doc has never seen me yet, knows all my tests were normal, knows i have had no recurrence of chest pain, but still have some muscle pain related to lifting. I signed myself out AMA... and will go tomorrow to see my regular doc. Was just curious if this is the norm when dealing with cardiac specialists. Thanks .
  11. Typo Queen myself at times. I admit i'm a terrible typer and my fingers run ahead of my brain at times. I correct when i can and have time. Oh well.
  12. too true!!!!
  13. good for you karo!!!!!!!!!!! i wish you the very best and a very Merry Christmas!
  14. Karo, my heart goes out to you and i am in agreement with the others, there's no reason you should have to maintain the level of stress and aggravation that you have, to many other positions open. Take a little time for you and consider all your options and realize your a very caring, compassionate nurse with a lot to offer to your pt's. will keep you in my prayers.
