Took NCLEX today, shut off at 75.....

Nursing Students NCLEX

Ok, I know everyone posts this sorta thing, but i'm so anxious, so maybe creating a post myself will help some of the stress.

I took the exam this morning. It shut off at 75, I felt good coming out....then I made the huge mistake of looking over some of the questions I had trouble with(that I remembered).

It seems like all the ones I looked at I put the wrong answer down.

I got tons of med questions, one SATA, and a bunch of infectious control and "who would you see first" questions.

I'm freaking out big time, I don't feel like I did terrible, but I definitely don't think I could possibly have done well enough to pass in just 75 questions.

I'm in PA, so hopefully I can find out tomorrow.

Good luck. Try to relax some and do something to occupy your time while you wait. Quick results take 48 hours from the time you tested but a few have gotten theirs earlier. Test is just too hard to predict. Hang in there.

Goodluck to you.. looks like you got a big chance to pass.. just my opinion.. but not sure... just try to distract yourself and do other stuff so you wont think about it.. i know its hard, been there done that.. but stay positive... God bless.

Thanks, I appreciate the kind words.

I've been working as a GN at a local hospital, so it was difficult to study for the boards while trying to learn how to be a real nurse. I know I can't really make excuses for myself at this point, so all I can do is take it easy, and pray.

I really don't think I could have done poorly enough to warrant the test shutting off so soon, but we will see....

i took the nclex-rn yesterday and i have the same feeling with you(kenstategrad). Mine stopped at 75 and I had one SATA and a couple of meds questions...(about 10?) I had a few of PEDS/OB/PSYCH and no calculation or drag... I thought I did well after it stopped but now i'm feeling anxious after I read your post. Unfortuantely, I'm in CA so I can't find out til next week. they said it's gonna be take 2-4wk by mail but many of my friends got their results online after 3-4 days. Did anyone wait too long to check your result online?

Haha, sorry if my post made you anxious! I'm sure you did fine.

Your test sounds identical to mine. No drang and drop, no calculation, one SATA, about 10 or so med questions. I had a few peds questions and some some, but no OB. I'm sorry you have to wait so long! Hopefully I'll find out by tomorrow sometime, since it seems like PA has been posting on their site the following day.

Either way, I've earned some well deserved beers with some of my buddies this weekend.

Wow, I never knew this forum was here. I took my NCLEX today also and have to say it was really one of the worst experiences of my life. My test sounds very similar to yours with the same types of questions. It shut off at 75 and I left the testing center in tears.

Just like you, I went home and looked up answers. I was extremely disappointed to find that I answered most of them wrong as well. I don't understand how I could do so well in nursing school, do well on all my Kaplan and Saunders practice exams and then leave the NCLEX feeling that failure is a certainty.

Did you feel that you got alot of comprehension/knowledge questions?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you passed, as well as myself. I really don't want to experience this exam again. I am so worried.

Wishing you good luck.

keep me update about your result! One of my friend took it yesterday and she got 8 SATA so she's depressed now. Hope we passed! Some ppl said if you didn't get calculation question, you probably passed... i'm keeping my fingers crossed too!!!! I hoping for the BEST~!!!!!! :)

Hey KentStateGrad,

Your test also sounds very similar to mine. I took it yesterday, and got 75 questions. Most of them seemed very difficult to me, and some of them were subjects that were not covered at all in class. I had 3 or 4 SATA's, 1 drag and drop, no hot spots, and no med calculations. A bunch of "who would you see first", some infectious disease, and a bunch of med questions. Good luck, and keep us updated! :)

I also took my test today shut off at 75 quesions I had no calculations or hot spots but lots of meds maybe 8-10 and 4 sata's and priority and precautions I am praying we all pass

Well....

1 SATA: Heartache

ZERO Med Math: Worry

Lots of choose whom first: Frustration

Lots of infectious Control: Confusion

10 Ultra Random Med questions: ******-offness

75 Questions then it's Done-zo: Fear

Finding out you passed your boards when you would have put MONEY down on the fact that you didnt.......priceless

No matter how many people say it, I don't think people will believe it. But it really doesn't matter how many SATA questions or other "high level questions" you get. I only got 1 SATA, and a few friends of mine didn't get any. All of us passed in 75. Even after reviewing the q's I could remember, and seeing that I put down the incorrect answers for ALL of them....it's just nice to only have to wait 24 hours. Thanks PA State BON!

It felt so good to go into work today and hang my big RN badge behind my ID badge.....:nurse:(I'm a dude, so I don't really resemble this at all).
