Took Nclex today and shut off @ 85

Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

Well I finally took the Nclex today and feel very nervous and unsure. It seems when i walked away from the test I felt numb. The computer shut off at 85 w/ 1 hard question at the end and I was screaming in my head no!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :banghead: I wanted to answer more questions to make up for that bad one. The torture starts today until another 4 weeks before I get my results:biere:. The saunders Comprehensive nclex -PN helped alot .

Not trying to rub it in since we have quick results in NY, but I PASSED! :-) Good luck to you and be sure to post once you get your passing results!!

:balloons::balloons::balloons:Congratulations Nurse Mimi:nurse:. Im happy you passed, but jealous as well because you got your results faster You know, I saw the computer pause as well on my test and I was like" okay what does that mean?".It paused after #52.So thats a good sign from the looks of it then.

Okay 1 down 3 to go.Its just Scallywag, Emy and I.

I sure will. I am a nervous wreck waiting, but it will be here soon enough.

I just took my test this past Monday and I stopped at 220. I thought for sure that I didn't passed, but I did. I live in California and I checked my results on the RN website for ca. Low and behold there was my name. I just checked today and found out that I passed. Still getting over the shock. Good luck to you all.

Rub it in, rub it in! That is GREAT news and you deserve to be excited! Congratulations :balloons:

Congrats to all of u and the ones who are still waiting, hang in there. Best of Luck!:balloons:

Thanks everyone. I will keep thinking about those of you waiting and hoping that your state will let you know quickly!

As soon as my license number is posted next week, I can practice as a LPN and that means I have to learn to do IVs at work! I am a little nervous about that, but I know I will feel better after I start doing them.

Anyway, thanks again and good luck!!!!

NUMB, that's all I can say.

I took my NCLEX-PN this afternoon, and it shut off at 135. I'm so scared because I felt like I didn't know much and feel like I failed it. I had a lot of "follow-up with this patient", and meds (most of which I'd never heard of). It was crazy. I PRAY that I passed! Everyone (including my instructor) keep telling me I'm worrying over nothing. A fellow class-mate of mine was there with me and he went all the way to 205! We're both scared.

It is such an ugly feeling. I feel like my studying didn't help a bit. If worse comes to worse, what would be a good study guide? I used the one from Saunders with the Silvestri author.

They said I could get my fast results this monday (I was hoping it would be this weekend). I'm on pins and needles and so scared. :uhoh21:

DAVE,

Hang in there. Every single person I spoke to (that passed!) has said the same thing. They felt "numb". Including me. I never felt so unsure of myself in life. In school, I could always almost to the point how well I did on a test after taking it. The NCLEX is a whole different story.

I used Saunders too, and I really dont think it helped, except for the stradegy stuff. I tried to memorize all the major meds, and none were used on the test.

Remember, the majority of the people pass. If you did well in school, you probably passed.

BTW, in TX, are you LVN's like us here in Cali?

Hey there,

Thanks for the kind words! I'm like you, in school I usually could tell how I did after an exam, but this is totally different. I'm with you, the Saunders book didn't really help me at all. It seemed to focus a lot on the A&P aspect of everything, not the care of the patient.

I did pretty well in school. I was actually the salutatorian-- and if I failed the NCLEX that would be so... what's the word?... bad! Everyone keeps telling me I passed but I'm a fatalistic person who ALWAYS thinks the worst of everything.. Ugh, it's time to change my views!

Thanks again :-D

Dave

Like you in California we are called LVN's. I met a lady from Colorado the other day and she was an LPN. Felt so strange to hear someone say they were an LPN.

I am so jealous. I took mine a million years ago with a #2 pencil & a proctor in the room, walking up & down the isles. I had to wait 8 weeks until my License was mailed to me. :p
