Took Nclex today and shut off @ 85

Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

Well I finally took the Nclex today and feel very nervous and unsure. It seems when i walked away from the test I felt numb. The computer shut off at 85 w/ 1 hard question at the end and I was screaming in my head no!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :banghead: I wanted to answer more questions to make up for that bad one. The torture starts today until another 4 weeks before I get my results:biere:. The saunders Comprehensive nclex -PN helped alot .

i think you pass the test. mine shut at 85 too i swear that i did bad because i don't think i knew one answer from the test and beside mine was 8:30 am and i went to work 11 to 7 am the day before ( stupid). so keep the faith .

Congrats to Dave and everyone who took the test and passed. Well its been 3 weeks and 5 days of torture , but I got my results in the mail today and I PASSED!!!!:lol2: Thank god, I couldnt be more relieved.

Yippeee for Dave and Dee Dee:loveya:! Two new nurses!!:balloons:

Hi DeeDee,

I had my exam two weeks ago, also stopped at 85. I am on pins and needles awaiting the results. Why oh why doesn't CA have the quick results available?!?

You are going to have to find something to do to ease your nerves over the next few weeks. Like I said, it has been two weeks for me and it feels like it has been an eternity!

Good luck and stay positive. I hear that 85 is good, but who knows??

sooo true! took mine last sept. 11 & it stopped @ 85 also!! Im also from California so i have to wait for 3wks more! let's just hope for the best..let us know if you guys passed..

Hey there,

Thanks for the kind words! I'm like you, in school I usually could tell how I did after an exam, but this is totally different. I'm with you, the Saunders book didn't really help me at all. It seemed to focus a lot on the A&P aspect of everything, not the care of the patient.

I did pretty well in school. I was actually the salutatorian-- and if I failed the NCLEX that would be so... what's the word?... bad! Everyone keeps telling me I passed but I'm a fatalistic person who ALWAYS thinks the worst of everything.. Ugh, it's time to change my views!

Thanks again :-D

Dave

Like you in California we are called LVN's. I met a lady from Colorado the other day and she was an LPN. Felt so strange to hear someone say they were an LPN.

hmmm! Saunders did helped me a lot:) probably it depends w/c book you can understand more/relate to..coz basically the concept is the same. I used Kaplan text & online, some lippincots & even those index card type of reviewers..

Goodluck to all!
