I took my NCLEX today for the second time. I felt calm going in an calm going out. The computer shut off at 75 questions. I did not know what to think; I prayed and asked God to let this be a victory. I had one picture, A lot of SATA, a lot of priority, familiar drugs, and a lot of infection control. I did not have any calculations this time around. It took me an hour and a half to take the test. I seen a lot of stuff that I studied; some of the questions were spot on from the Davis CD, Hurst and La Charity. I mean they were VERY similiar. I did a little over 3,000 questions. I used Davis, the Hurst review course book that my friend loaned me, the exam cram book, and notes from this site. I love the Endocrine system! I am not doing the Pearson Vue Trick, lol. I am going to wait. I will definitely come back and write more when I find out my official results. I pray, to God, that I have come to a successful end of trying to pass this test. I will pray for all who have to take the NCLEX soon. Thanks everyone!
futurehealthcarewrkr 52 Posts Aug 28, 2011 oh wow you did a lot of studying. you beat me, I did about 2,000-2500 questions lol...hehe...aww I was just about to ask you should to the PVT trick. Don't worry I also had a ton of SATA'S (27), PRIORITIZING, AND MEDS! I did the Nclex PN and shut off at a minimum of 85! It took me two days to check the PVT TRICK. I got the good pop up. But I cried all the way home that day because I KNEW I FAILED so according to pvt, I passed...so we will see. Here in cali, we don't have the QUICK RESULTS so I have to wait another 3 to 4 weeks for official results! If you do decide to do the PVT please post. It sounds as though you did pass. BEst of LUck!:monkeydance:

Tinkerbell04 180 Posts Aug 28, 2011 Foreverstudyin, yes that is the correct one. Also, I used the Kaplan 2010 strategy book. When I received the white board, I wrote the following down: stabe vs. unstable, acute vs. chronic, actual vs. potential, now vs. later, and expected vs. unexpected and ABC's. I used the decision tree very little. I will wite more once I reveive my official results! I don't want to count the eggs before they hatch, although I am claiming it! I am still praying.

foreverstudyin 12 Posts Aug 29, 2011 ok, i will look into the kaplan 2010 strategy book.i had taken the kaplan course prior to the 1st time. and also, the nclex-101: how to pass by rayfield (close to 40% of this workbook's q&as are identical to kaplan's qbank q&as). and took some handwritten notes form the qbank, since i knew it atcually expires on 9/1.i did not use any other resources.just a fyi:btwn my first (june 9th) & second exam (aug22nd), i noticed stark differences. after completing the entire qbank btwn the 1st & 2nd exam, i recalled alot of quests similar to the kaplan qbank quests. however, this will not the case, when i took the 2nd time. did not notice any familiar quests from the kap qbank. looking into other resources.thanks everyone.
