Took NCLEX Test May 15th..Got all 265 Questions

Nursing Students NCLEX

Was just curious if anybody knew the rule about when you get all 265 questions whether you pass or fail?? I remember the Kaplan lady explaining it. I think she said if the last question is a passing level question then it doesn't matter if you got it right or wrong. Does the last question have to be a "Select All that Apply" to be a passing level question? Would love to hear some input from people that have some knowledge on this.

Thanks...

and I know somebody is just going to tell me to do the Pearson Vue Trick (PVT) but I don't have the $200 on my card to try that so that's out of the question and I took my test this Friday so I have to wait 48 BUSINESS HOURS till I can pay the stupid 8 dollars for quick results...

LOL! In theory we shouldn't have to write "CAT testing" but since no one knows what 'CAT' means....there you go! :)

Or ATM machine... Automated teller machine machine

I got all 265 question on my NCLEX and I pass,

Another LOL.

My personal fave: PIN number

Yep I'm definitely doing that Monday morning but In the mean time I was looking if anyone in her had specific knowledge in regards to the 265 question thing. I remember Kaplan explaining it very well but forgot what the lady said...

I had all 265 and I passed.............you can get the least and pass or fail and you can get the max and pass or fail. I would not risk doing the PVT because you will be losing your money if they accept payment, there is NO refund. Hope all is well.

I got 265 questions and passed 👌

I am on my 4th try and on my 3rd try I got 265 and failed and today it was my fourth try and got 265 and my last question was SATA. Any thoughts. I don't wanna do the Pearson trick bc I feel sick and have been crying for 2 hours

The type of question is not indicative of pass or fail.

When you reach the 265 question, Yes it is not important if your answer is right or wrong, because the computer already knows if you are on the passing level or failing level, sso if in number 264, you are already on the passing level, even you make your last question wrong, You PASSED. but if in your 264 question, the computer knows that you are already failed, even if you got the right answer on the last question, you still Fail.Hope it helps.Only the computer knows if you are on the passing or failing level.

I took my test yesterday. Idk if I answered all 265 or if it cut off a little short of that but my heart is racing I am so nervous

I got 265 questions and I legit freaked out.

I sat down, took my time with each question, and breathed. I knew the material. I took the Kaplan Self-Led course, which was wonderful. The questions from that course were significantly harder than what I came across on the NCLEX, especially in the Select All That Apply (RIGHT?!). I also practiced and studied with a friend who had purchased UWorld. That is another great program with excellent rationales, however they don't dissect the questions quite like Kaplan and the Decision Tree do.

So I saw the number of questions in the top right hand corner slowly but surely ticking up to 265. I left thinking "You blew it. You'll have to take it again." which was unfortunate, because I have a job lined up to start in the end of August (thankfully). I waited the 48hrs, distracting myself as best i could.

I work on the beach as a lifeguard in Long Beach, and my coworkers that day (rainy day) were SUPER supportive and comforting. As soon as the "purchase" button popped up on my results page I signed into, I felt my heart sink. I felt like I'd vomit. I was sweating profusely.

My boyfriend drove across town to be there for the big reveal. He stood as I sank to the sand, and I paid the $7.95 to seal my fate. He was by my side as I saw the unofficial "Pass" and I started to cry. My coworkers clapped and then a group of kids walking by started to clap as well. I felt great. I even had a little girl come up to me (told by my coworker on the lifeguard stand) and say "Congratulations! My daddy just caught a shark!" It was just adorable.

SO moral of the story, DO NOT get discouraged if you get all 265, and just don't freak out if you got any number between 75 and 265. Try. It's difficult, like probably the most difficult 48hrs. I almost purchased another study course (haha). But for real. I've never been so excited especially because i was pretty sure I had failed when I walked out of the strange, FBI-looking building in Lake Success where my exam was held.

Keep your heads up everyone. My nurse preceptor, who i LOVE, said to me, "You got this. You've been studying since you started nursing school, if you think about it. You're a smart cookie. You'll pass easy." Her words stuck with me, because yes we have all been studying since the second we sat for our first nursing school quiz, exam, practice exam, whatever. Every professor loves to hear their students passed, and they especially love (as well as program directors) to hear that their school has a huge passing rate. I went to LIU Brooklyn and i can honestly say that they prepared me VERY well despite some crazy stuff we dealt with over the 2 years.

SO KEEP YOUR HEAD UP again and just breathe. Take your time. Even if you're not the best of test takers, like myself, just study, maintain the confidence, and you'll be OK.

Sincerely,

A very HAPPY RN, BSN!
