Took NCLEX-RN today for 4th time!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I took the NCLEX today for the 4th time, it shut off after 75 questions and 2 hours. I tried to look on pearson but there site appears to be down. This is the first time I have had such a short exam... first time was 191 questions, 2nd time was 206 questions, 3rd time was all 265 questions. I used kaplan's review program and their decision tree and answered more questions than I can count.

I had 12 Sata, 6 put in order, 3 drug calculations and a TON of "which atient do you see first?"

So fingers crossed, prayers to any god that might be listening and I have to wait for the quick results.:uhoh3:

I just got the good pop up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's taking me almoste 6 years from the time I started nursing school in the UK to this moment. THANK YOU KAPLAN!!!!!

I am SO HAPPY for you!! I don't know you at all...But, honestly it's great to hear that you never gave up. This is for all those grumpy people out there who "call themselves nurses" and discourage those who unfortunately did not pass NCLEX on their first or second try. I'm a firm believer that anything is possible. Rub it in their face!!! And go party !!!

Hi RN from UK

I'm john jacobs, haven't taken it yet but have been working on it diligently. Sorry that you had to take it over, I'll probably be in same boat. What is sata? I saw questins that you list all that apply for example, pericarditis, list like fever, pericardial frictin rub, precordial chesdt pain, braducardia and you check the ones that are applicable to this conditx. "Put in order" you mean select what to do first like client comes in e.r. with chest pain and trouble breathing, do abc and so forth? and which pt do you see first, your're talking emergency disaster situation like triage? I have Saunders book and have seen a little of alertate format questions. my email is [email protected] I live in Harrisburg, PA. I spent some time in England while in the Air Force. So you think Kaplan is worth it, cost is $500 but I get a discount with excelsior. Been thinking of going when I reach about 3/4 of saunders completed. Good luck with all your plans. John

Yes Kaplan is definatly worth every cent. I just wish I had done it sooner. SATA are "Select all that Apply", Put in order is putting the steps of a nursing procedure in order (giving eye drops for example). "Which patient first" is generall external disasters or phone calls in a clinic or you just recieved handover, which do you see first.

I would recommend Kaplan 100%.

It's Official. I passed! Saw my name on DOH website with ACTIVE enxt to my license! Now time to celebrate!
