  1. Having worked in the Operating Room, I alternated with Danskos and Nike Air Max's. The busy days which is mostly everyday I wore my Air Max's, after all those shoes are made for running. Paid about $200 but its worth it after working a 12hr day with hard cases...
  2. I had the same scenario as you. It was my 3rd try last month. I also got 8 SATA, tons of priority atleast half the test , an exhibit, 2 drug calcs and 1 dragnDrop. I felt so confident that I passed only to find out it was a failure. Did pvt and went straight to CC. I hoped that pvt was inaccurate, I must have tried the trick atleast5x but nope it was a failure. Now I am studying like its my first time, did a refresher course and im moving along. Deactivated FB, I havent checked my email in god knows how long, and I only go online once in awhile to read positive stories here on allnurses. I have isolated myself from any distractions. Passed the depressed stage and game face on. Left it all behind and I'm praying for the best...
  3. good luck and my prayers are with you. with god nothing is impossible...
  4. Congratulations! 6 years? nice, with persistence anything is possible! And I see Kaplan worked for you, best wishes..
  5. i suggest that maybe you need some kind of a refresher course being that this is your 4th time. i am taking mine for the 4th time as well sometime next month. i took the feuer live review in ny ( had to do 30hrs remedial course as per njbon to retake exam ) and i see a big change in how i answer practice questions. i guess i truly needed a content review being that i graduated 4 yrs ago. i thought a self review was sufficient enough at first till i failed for the 3rd time last feb. something had to change, study ethics and materials had to be changed. the more i am practicing, the more sata's , priority questions i am able to answer correctly with the application of content of course. this plan is working for me, you have to do what works best for you and achieve what[color=#ee82ee] you have planned out. these are the materials i am using: ~ pda lacharity ~ feuer homework practice questions ( for every segment of the review they gave us about 200 questions on each subject plus a cd that they recommend using 3-5 wks after the course.) ~ exam cram ~ saunders comprehensive - i only go back to this book for a more in depth explanation on content. i also found out that i would rather review alone. i get easily distracted so i find that studying alone i focus much better than being in a group setting. again, do what works for you!
  6. [color=#b22222]" also, keep in mind that nclex tests for entry-level knowledge." i totally agree. i just recently took a review course and they kept repeating over and over and over again that this exam is for entry level knowledge. if i had a dollar for everytime the instructors reminded us, it would have paid for the course itself and more.
  7. I think there should be a dislike button as well...
  8. I think you should be thankful that you are ALREADY practicing NCLEX type questions. Not just from one source but random ones. Variety prepares your critical thinking pad in order for you to answer any type of questions thrown at you during your actual exam. " They may have 4 equally correct answers and we have to be psychic to figure out what the instructor was thinking when they wrote it " and that my dear is what we call PRIORITIZING. there will be plenty of those on the nclex. You might be frustrated now, because you just want to pass and graduate already. But I think once you sit for your exam, you will be thanking those instructors for preparing you well.
  9. Congratulations! I am so happy for you, and thank you for the materials that you've shared as well. Just curious though, do you think the LaCharity book prepared you for it? I am almost done with mine, it's taking me awhile to finish it because i'm alternating that and feuer homework practice questions. Again, congrats you deserved it, and I wish you the very best in your future endeavors. Cheers!
  10. diana, i went back to the notes i took during my live review with feuer and it is OXYGEN first. In big bold letters.
  11. I think your answer might be a simple antianxiety med. I was told by the instructor that no matter how hard you prepare/study for this exam, if your nerves get to you you are bound for failure. My instructor for psyc had actually recommended to take a pill the morning of the exam to alleviate anxiety (for those who are severe). I might just take her advice the day of my exam.
  12. You should try checking out Feuer Live Review. I just completed their one week of Live review in Manhattan. I read on the their brochure that they are going to be in Miami in May. Not sure of the exact dates but they will be down south Florida since we just finished the NY class yesterday. I recommend taking this class. Good for content review specially to those who have graduated awhile back like myself and need a refresher.
  13. I am not too sure if they have. The audio that I am using is the old version, I am wondering the same thing. I am taking their LIVE Lectures this saturday. I'll get more info then.
