Took NCLEX-RN on Friday in CA

Nursing Students NCLEX

I just found my name on the BRN website with an *RN* next to it!

I had 79 questions...I didn't think that the test was that difficult and was confident when I left the exam in 40 minutes. I had about 5 meds, but they were basic, no math, 2 select all that apply. Seems that most of my exam was on who would I see first, who would I call first, who would I discharge first, etc...

Good luck to all waiting to take the exam & those waiting on results!

First off, sydie, CONGRATULATIONS!

So you felt pretty good about the test? Wow - it's so odd how differently people perceive the test. Most come out saying they feel they failed and that the content was arcane and bizarre - yet some, yourself included, feel the test made sense and was pretty straightforward. I wonder how/why that is? (I'll have my own perspective soone enough - I take NCLEX tomorrow.)

What did you to to prepare?

And again, a hearty YAY! for you.

I wrote mine Friday past in Anaheim as well, saw my name this am too on BRN! Nice feeling!!!! Way to go!

When did you took the exam?congratulations...

Thanks...

Sunnydaze...congrats to you too, RN!

Vektor...believe me, I was very surprised to feel that my exam was straightforward. I expected to come out and think, what the heck was that all about!! I prepared using Saunders 3rd edition, and the Kaplan strategy book. I started studying about 3 weeks ago and spent 2-4 hrs per day on it. Good luck tomorrow...let us know what you think about the exam!

Otan11...I took the exam last Friday (6/15)

oh mg god,,,i took mine last tuesday (6/12) until now i can't find my name on the web....ahhhhhh....my anxiety is killing me..maybe i failed.:(

a friend of mine in Anaheim who passed the NCLEX last month with 75 said the exam was easy. well, she excelled in our nursing school so i do not take her word for it cos i was her opposite when it comes to nursing school performance. but i wished i could borrow the brains of people who already passed. anyway, congratulations to those who passed!! Congrats, RNs! hope to be one soon..

Thanks for the good luck wishes, sydie. I did similar prep to you, and took a review course. I have studied pretty obsessively actually, because I am a bit kooky like that. :uhoh3:

I need to take a break and relax for the rest of the day - I've done all I can!

It sounds like your study plan and mine are similar, and it seemed to work well for you, so hopefully, I'm on the right track!

Congrats to all who passed and best of luck to those waitin to take it or get their results. Im one of the waiters...took it yesterday. Im glad to hear that so many are getting their results rather quickly. I see the horror stories of those who are waiting after weeks...I don't think I could deal with that long of a wait. Only 30 hours later and I feel like I'm going to lose it if I don't know soon...:lol_hitti

Congratulations Sydie! that was fast for california result...lucky you!!

like you too OTAN-11 until now im waiting for my result which i took it last 06-08 its been a long time i never receive anything yet to the mailbox- so depressed right now, maybe i failed....ughhh!!

i stopped at 75, prioritization mostly no math and select all that apply.... 6 meds...

I just took the NCLEX RN today (6/19/07). I did really well in school and took Kaplan. I was not too worried about the exam leading up to it and I never expected to be worred about the results, but I'm having doubts about how I did. I had at least 3 'select all that apply' questions--those suck. I know I missed a few questions and there were one or two I may not have been able to answer confidently even with a text right in front of me. The test was hard! All I can do now is wait for the results I guess. I don't think I can get results early because our nursing dept says they won't be sending transcripts to the board until July. :uhoh21:

Specializes in My first yr. as a LVN!.

congrats .. omg what a feeling! I can NOT wait!!! Since youre in CA, Im curious to know what site you got all of your information? Im trying to see if I can get a jumpstart somehow and have gone through some of the main websites, but I have a feeling the school is going to be slow sending in the paperwork and I wil be waiting sooo long to get the ball rolling on my date and so forth. Do you get to pick your date for the NCLEX? Also did you hav to get fingerprinted? If so, how soon ahead of time can you get the prints and how long do those take? I dont know... Im starting to panic thinking I dont want it to take forever... of course grad. is 4mth away right around the holidays... its gonna be murder....!!! I wish I could have graduated early like July before holidays hit...
