Took NCLEX-RN on Friday in CA

Published

I just found my name on the BRN website with an *RN* next to it!

I had 79 questions...I didn't think that the test was that difficult and was confident when I left the exam in 40 minutes. I had about 5 meds, but they were basic, no math, 2 select all that apply. Seems that most of my exam was on who would I see first, who would I call first, who would I discharge first, etc...

Good luck to all waiting to take the exam & those waiting on results!

congrats .. omg what a feeling! I can NOT wait!!! Since youre in CA, Im curious to know what site you got all of your information? Im trying to see if I can get a jumpstart somehow and have gone through some of the main websites, but I have a feeling the school is going to be slow sending in the paperwork and I wil be waiting sooo long to get the ball rolling on my date and so forth. Do you get to pick your date for the NCLEX? Also did you hav to get fingerprinted? If so, how soon ahead of time can you get the prints and how long do those take? I dont know... Im starting to panic thinking I dont want it to take forever... of course grad. is 4mth away right around the holidays... its gonna be murder....!!! I wish I could have graduated early like July before holidays hit...

The BRN website has all the info you need...

here is the FAQ for first time licensees...

http://www.rn.ca.gov/lic/lic-faqs.htm#faqs

and the Application packet...you'll need Adobe Acrobat to open it...

http://www.rn.ca.gov/lic/lic-exam.htm

click on Application for Licensure by Examination and just below it is the Livescan fingerprint info...

I would wait until the beginning of the last semester to send stuff in though. The BRN is a bit overwhelmed and sometimes things get lost, especially if they are hanging around for a long time waiting on transcripts etc to complete the packet...

Good luck and enjoy your last semester!!!
