Took NCLEX PN yesterday - Nov 18th 2008

First off, I just wanted for those preparing to take/retake the NCLEX to know that having faith and confidence:coollook: goes a long way. Please think positive:up: throughout the whole process.. From studying all the way until you receive your results. You've finished the nursing program:yeah: which means you can definitely accomplish passing the NCLEX.

I graduated the VN program in January of this year. It took me 10 months to take the NCLEX because there were many difficult situations that had spontaneously happened this year. Although life had thrown a couple speed bumps in my path, I did not let that stop me from becoming closer to my dream. It was a difficult road:banghead:... from losing a loved one:crying2: and having financial difficulties:twocents:, I gave myself time to get myself together and pick myself up again. I brought this up because I know many of us have had or still have hurdles to jump. But don't lose faith and remember to never give up. You owe it to yourself no matter what people say or think.

So I've been studying on and off for the past year but have been strictly following my Saunders Prescription Plan for about 2 months. I have pushed my test date about 4 times (which I strictly do not recommend for anyone to do:nono:) but I felt unsure and unconfident everytime that test date came closer. But in all honesty, I still did not feel confident but I knew I just had to. It was do or die, haha.

The day of the test, I was a nervous wreck:banghead:. But luckily I have a strong support system.. And they really helped me with their positive encouragement:redbeathe. Just remember to take a deep breath and relax. I know that its easier said than done... but you have to keep repeating it to yourself. Being nervous will just make it harder for you to concentrate. So just relax and try your best. Remember to take breaks if you have to. You have 5 whole hours and I'm pretty sure you will not use up that whole 5 hours. So while I was taking the test, I kind of prepared myself to not worry if I passed 85 questions. I was already at question 82 and still have not gotten a calculations question:no: so I was pretty sure I wasn't doing well. My test shut down at 85. I seriously didn't know how to feel after the test ended because I didn't recieve any calculations... I recieved 3 meds questions, 5 SATA, tons of prioritization, and like 3 maternity questions. I know that the number that it stops at does not reflect on whether or not you have passed so we will see how it goes. I have to wait one whole month for my result so I am still trying to keep the faith and positive outlook:wink2:. I really am glad I decided not to push back my date anymore. I wished that I took it sooner. But all is said and done. Please pray for me. I will let you know how it turns out.... Good luck to all who are going to be taking the NCLEX and for those who are waiting for your results. :redpinkhe

OkFresh!!! Just wanted to say ongrats on taking your exam! I know you did good :D .. well, you already know I took my exam today cuz I called you and spoke to you earlier, hehe... I just want to say thanks for being such a good friend during my studies... It's great to know I wasn't alone stressing off of studying and to reach our goal of "becoming a nurse"... and someone who knows exactly what you have to go through to become a nurse... It definately has been a rough road for us and we both know how hard we've worked....

4 more weeks for me to go! and 3 more weeks for you! in the meantime I'll keep praying for us as I hope you will do the same....

...THINK POSITIVE :heartbeat !!!

:redbeathe WE GOT THIS!!! :redbeathe :wink2:

i have been reviewing NCLEX-PN MADE INCREDIBLY EASY and went from 50% to like 65% and my nclex-pn is in 2 days. am i ready??

Wow, that was one of the most encourageing posts I have read to date.

I too am studing to take my PN boards in Caifornia.

I have numerous set backs as well. It sure does cause a lot of problems, but I am pushing on.

Thank you for the words of wisdom.:heartbeat

Good luck on your studying and test!!! I will pray for you! Just remember to keep your eyes on the prize no matter what!:D

I got some great news everyone! After the 2 1/2 weeks of anticipation... I finally recieved my letter from the boards yesterday and I passed!!!! I seriously didn't expect my results to come so early since California usually says it takes about 3-4 weeks, especially around the holiday season. But I'm glad it came before the holidays! This is the best Christmas present I can give to myself and my family. Thank you to everyone on here for the support and encouraging words. This website has been an excellent tool for anything nursing.. from doing research before deciding to take on a nursing profession, to being in school, before and after the NCLEX, and so forth. I promise to give my 110% in my nursing profession and practice safely. This is only the beginning and it's sooooo surreal! I seriously can't believe I passed!

Congrats

Thank you Silverdragon102!!:D
