First off, I just wanted for those preparing to take/retake the NCLEX to know that having faith and confidence:coollook: goes a long way. Please think positive:up: throughout the whole process.. From studying all the way until you receive your results. You've finished the nursing program:yeah: which means you can definitely accomplish passing the NCLEX.
I graduated the VN program in January of this year. It took me 10 months to take the NCLEX because there were many difficult situations that had spontaneously happened this year. Although life had thrown a couple speed bumps in my path, I did not let that stop me from becoming closer to my dream. It was a difficult road:banghead:... from losing a loved one:crying2: and having financial difficulties:twocents:, I gave myself time to get myself together and pick myself up again. I brought this up because I know many of us have had or still have hurdles to jump. But don't lose faith and remember to never give up. You owe it to yourself no matter what people say or think.
So I've been studying on and off for the past year but have been strictly following my Saunders Prescription Plan for about 2 months. I have pushed my test date about 4 times (which I strictly do not recommend for anyone to do:nono:) but I felt unsure and unconfident everytime that test date came closer. But in all honesty, I still did not feel confident but I knew I just had to. It was do or die, haha.
The day of the test, I was a nervous wreck:banghead:. But luckily I have a strong support system.. And they really helped me with their positive encouragement:redbeathe. Just remember to take a deep breath and relax. I know that its easier said than done... but you have to keep repeating it to yourself. Being nervous will just make it harder for you to concentrate. So just relax and try your best. Remember to take breaks if you have to. You have 5 whole hours and I'm pretty sure you will not use up that whole 5 hours. So while I was taking the test, I kind of prepared myself to not worry if I passed 85 questions. I was already at question 82 and still have not gotten a calculations question:no: so I was pretty sure I wasn't doing well. My test shut down at 85. I seriously didn't know how to feel after the test ended because I didn't recieve any calculations... I recieved 3 meds questions, 5 SATA, tons of prioritization, and like 3 maternity questions. I know that the number that it stops at does not reflect on whether or not you have passed so we will see how it goes. I have to wait one whole month for my result so I am still trying to keep the faith and positive outlook:wink2:. I really am glad I decided not to push back my date anymore. I wished that I took it sooner. But all is said and done. Please pray for me. I will let you know how it turns out.... Good luck to all who are going to be taking the NCLEX and for those who are waiting for your results. :redpinkhe
Still did not recieve my results yet with quick results....I went up too 85 questions and started to freak out when the computer shut off..I had 1 math...3 sata...the rest were priority questions....I am going crazyyy:bugeyes:
I had a bunch of priority questions too. i did't really feel like my test was getting any harder. my test felt like it was staying in a constant level. i don't know if thats a good or bad thing. it kept giving me infection contol questions so i am not really sure if it was giving me a bunch of those because I was answering them all wrong. Let's just wait it out and pray. At least you get the obligation to have quick results! I'm so jealous. lol
i took my exam friday nov. 21st at 8am and i have been waiting...i am a nervous wreck constantly checking the website for my results but....i just recieved my results this morning at 9am (sunday)....oh my god...i passed!!!!!!!! thank you god
:yeah::yeah:congrats!!
:yeah:
you're finally a . and you deserve it!!! i hope that i will be able to say the same too!
I know exactly how you feel. I just took the NCLEX PN on yesterday and my test also shut off after 85 questions. I was had tested in 1.5 hours. My mind was totally blown. I was like, there have to be more questions; the survey came up, and it was officially over. All I could think about was not passing because i received a low number of questions. However, I felt really comfortable with the questions (prioritizing, confidentiality, med side effects amd about 5 or 6 math questions). I hope I passed:plsebeg:, and I am sure that you did just fine as well.
