Took NCLEX June 23 in CA

Nursing Students NCLEX

I am stressing out here. I took the NCLEX-RN on 6/23 and I haven't heard anything from them. I called them 2 weeks ago and they told me that my check bounced (embarassing, I know). So I drove up to Sacramento and paid that day. They said within 5 days I should hear something. I don't feel like I failed. I know you usually get your notice of failure in the mail within a week or so. I am CONFUSED!! My "evaluator" at the BRN emailed me to tell me they will finish processing my payment by the end of the week (today is Saturday) and have my results mailed to me by the end of next week. Why can't they just tell me?

I did try the Pearson trick and got the pop-up. That and this blog are the only things keeping me sane.

If I didn't pass...fine, just tell me!! I've already been through the stages of grief, several times now. Each phone call to the BRN gives me hope, they tell me "Oh, you should soon", soon has come and gone too many times.

Has anybody else had this problem???:crying2:

Well, you will find out the answer sooner or later anyway you look at it. Tell yourself that you passed. If you didn't, you will have plenty of time to be upset when you get the news. Until then, believe that your good news is just delayed. Good luck.

Hi 2bigdogs. Have you heard anything yet? I took boards on Jun 30 and haven't heard anything either. I get the pop-up at Pearson-Vue, but the CA BRN people cannot tell me if I passed or failed on the phone. I really feel like I passed, but I could be wrong. My situation is a little special, as I was taking the test as an "8-year retake", which basically means I let my license expire, so I need to retake boards. So I'm hoping that, because our situations are unique, we are just in a separate pile that isn't processed as quickly. Cuz based on everything I've read on here about everyone's experience with taking boards (level of questions, etc) and the pop-up thing, I really think I passed.

I think it is sheer torture for them to make us wait so long, but they do tell you before you take the test that it will take 2-4 weeks to get results, so I cannot seem to get anyone to care yet. Yikes!

No, I am still waiting!! I took Kaplan, had tons of priority q's and 8 SATA. It shut off at 75. I have a great memory, so when I got home I checked for answers to alot of my q's and did pretty good with my choices. I don't know...I guess we will have to wait. Keep me posted.

Hi,

I just posted a help thread.... I took the NCLEX RN in CA June 16th. Today is 4 weeks...my file is complete and I'm still waiting. Iam also an 8 year retake. I had 75 questions and I felt pretty good about it. This is really painful!

As long as all your paper work from your school is in and there is no transcripts problems you should see your name on the CA BRN within 3 business days. I took mine June 25th and it was up there by the 30th at 0400

lapsed: Did you call the BRN? If you call right at 8:00 a.m., you can actually talk to a live person. If I was at four weeks, I would be really persistant and ask for help in receiving results...maybe they could email or call the lady that does the processing? And if the person cannot help, maybe ask for a supervisor. They are all very nice and really want to help us. The lady I talked to said that she was unable to tell me my results, but to keep checking the board for my license #, sort of a major hint hint. But I'm not going to believe I passed until I see the results because the test WAS difficult and maybe I was reading too much into her words. Did you also try to re-register for the test with Pearson and get the pop-up?

Thanks for posting. It reassures me a bit that two others from CA that felt confident about passing and have 'special circumstances' have not received results yet. Please continue to post anything you find out and I will do the same.

HeartsOpenWide: Yes, I'm aware that normally the license is posted within 3 days and that is precisely why we are worried :), but we don't know what is normal for an 8-year retake. Was yours an 8-year retake?

Oh my goodness, I just called the BRN and he told me that 8-yr retakes do take longer to process, but ....get this....he told me I passed!!!!!! I passed! He couldn't give me a license #, but said that he would request that "she" process it as soon as possible. I think there is only one person that processes these things.

What a relief.

Hi Karen,

I called and two weeks and the women said.."Have you been checking the site?" and that my record was complete. So I, like you thought it was a good thing. I called yesterday and a guy answered and just said I should hear soon. I will call back and see what happens because this is crazy!

I really hope it is good news for you. You have been waiting for waayyy too long. Please post when you hear. I'd like to know what happens. Also, it might be kind of nice for us to share our next battle...which will be employment. I'm taking a re-entry course, hopefully at CSUSM (need the darned license to apply!).
