A lot of people do this with varying degrees of success. It is a lot to take on...so mainly it depends on how much you have to work and if you have a good foundation of solid study habits. Most instructors will tell you to expect to study for three hours for each hour in class. So, if these classes total 8 hours (I'm just guessing), then you can expect to study for 24 hours outside of class. Add to that the 8 hours in class and you're at 32 hours for the week. If your classes total 9 hours, you're looking at 36 hours a week devoted to school.
Good luck!
nah, you can do it! you will just have to sacrifice time in other areas. my university had us take a&p2+ lab, prinicples of chem + lab, english composition 2, us history, and developmental psych. i had to wave goodbye to my social life.
and just remember when your bored and wishing you could take a break, this is all for something really worth it!!
That is definitely possible...when you are in nursing school you will be taking more than 2 classes a semester. I don't think you will need 32 hours a week to study for both classes. I personally did not study more than 6 hours a week for both classes and got and A in each class. It all depends on your study habits and your professor. Good Luck :) You can do it
I'm currently taking Anatomy, At Solano College it is a pre-req for Phisio as well. I need to take phisio next semester, and am thinking about taking Micro as well. Just worried about getting decent grades in both.
The students I know at ACC say physiology and microbiology are both challenging and suggested I take pharmacology with one of them rather than Physiology and micro at the same time.

I am studying A&PI, microbiology, intro to psychology and principles of sociology this semester. So far I am maintaining an A grade in all 4 and not finding it too bad. Just takes organisation and focus. They recommend a lot of studying, but bear in mind it is also important to find the ways to study, I can read for three hours and learn less than I would in 30 minutes doing practice questions and/or flashcard studying with a willing victim!
This semester, I'm maintaining A's in Micro, Micro Lab, A&P and Molecular Cell Bio. It's not too bad, honestly. You just have to be good at time management and definitely stay on top of things. That said, it all depends on what kind of student you are. If you don't get A's fairly easily, then I wouldn't take on too much since pre-req GPA really matters.
What itsinthegenes said is very true, find your best methods of study and mix them up a bit. Also, make sure you break up book studying into smaller more manageable chunks rather than doing marathon sessions all the time. You retain a lot more that way.
BTW, next semester I have Physiology, Biochemistry, Developmental Psych and Nutrition. Now THAT may kill me. :-)

Thinking about taking Phiosilogy and Micro next semester. Have any of you done this? How hard was it? Or am I crazy?
