Hello all,
I am a senior nursing student. After months of searching for a tech position, I finally scheduled a phone interview for next Friday. However, I was told that I would need to obtain my CNA or EMT certification beforehand. Aren't these both lengthy certifications?! Which one would be faster to obtain? I live in St. Louis, MO.
Thanks!

if you have completed at least one semester of clinical (at least in my state), you can challenge the CNA exam without taking the class. it is a written exam, with a skills test and takes one day. i almost did it, but for some reason it was really hard to get in touch with the right people to get the paperwork i needed.. try asking your nursing instructors if they know how to go about it.

This cannot be answered here, because the answer depends on where you live. I've seen CNA classes that take as little as 2 weeks, and as a senior nursing student you'd probably do very well in them.

I too, believe you can challenge the CNA exam. Check out your states site and go from there. Good luck!
