Today I'm thankful for...

Amidst all the venting posts, and in spirit of the holidays, I thought I would start an I'm thankful for post. Don't know if this will take off, but I thought it would be fun if each day people came and posted what they are thankful for that day. Being that it's the first, go for the month. Besides, once you get past the normal thankful for family, home, etc.. it might be fun to see what kind of creativity is used.

That said, I will start with a boring old Today I am thankful for even having a job. I may ***** and moan at times, and groan I do not want to go to work that day, but I am thankful to have that option.

Now your turn:)

great thread!

i'm thankful that i was born with the brains and the wherewithal to drag myself up out of poverty and an abusive childhood and go to school. not everyone born into poverty can manage it and i count myself as extremely fortunate to have done so. i'm very, very grateful for the nice life, wonderful marriage and fabulous friendships i've created along the way.

and i'm grateful that i had a childhood to overcome -- it's given me lots of things to write about!

I am thankful that I get to go to work in the most comfortable clothes known to man...barely-disguised pajamas.

I am thankful that I work with experienced co-workers and new nurses alike. I can vent with my new-ish nurse coworkers that we feel like idiots sometimes, we share our off-duty research on things we didn't know, and I can get assistance when necessary from my experienced co-workers.

I am thankful for my slow nights, and I am thankful for my not-so-slow nights. The not-so-slow nights teach me about handling new situations, and the slow nights give me the breathing room to mentally handle the not-so-slow nights.

I am thankful for my husband who has picked up my slack as I got used to my night schedule.

I am thankful that my kids are so self-sufficient that they worked for two straight days during the weekend to get their science fair projects done beautifully, with very little help and no reminders from me nor my husband. They are fantastic kids that I am continually amazed by.

I am thankful for the fall....it's my favorite time of year. I am thankful for my husband who still loves me even though there is more of me to love then when we first met. I am thankful for my child and my dog, who both bring great joy into my life. I am thankful for an opportunity to work with prople I respect. And last but not least, I am thankful for vanilla slim fast and low fat oreos.
