I have had bad leg veins for a long time. I've used the heavy duty support hose (medical ones) and can't stand the way they feel under pants. I also don't like the way panty hose fit me. So I ordered a pair of compression socks online, knee-hi ones...hoping they will help. Has anyone tried just the socks? Do they help?
I have worn the surgical support knee-highs for years. They've been satisfactory for me--in fact I feel undressed without them. I have both regular surg. support hose (the kind you wear with a garter belt) and panty-hose, but neither is as comfortable to me as the knee-highs.
They help. I wear Brikenstocks. Between the orthotic bed of the Birks and the compression of the TED hose my legs and feet are far less achy and sore than they had been.
I wear the compression socks, and they make a huge difference. Your legs will still hurt by the end of the day, but you will be able to go longer without feeling it. I highly recommend them, they keep you going!
The graded compression stockings have made all the difference in the world. I would also suggest trying different brands to find the ones you like best. I recently went from Jobst to Juzo and can't believe the difference.
I weat thigh high TEDs (my leg pain was on my outer thighs mainly). They made a world of difference. Paired with the right shoes, no leg OR foot pain. I ordered my stockings from drugstore.com.

Anyone tried Antistax,it's a natural extract of red vine leaf that is supposed to help venous flow in the legs.It does seem to help ,your legs don't feel so bloated etc.
