Timeline for endorsing RN license to CA

Published

I am interested to hear anyones experience in endorsing their license into CA. I used the online endorsement as well as the livescan fingerprinting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

accidental duplicate post I can't delete! only edit.

I move in less than a month and can't apply for work yet. What is causing so much delay for everyone???? Congrats on those who have gotten theirs :)

Update! My licensing process continues per a letter from BON. No license yet but they are working on it.

My goodness that is crazy! Did they say what was taking so long or causing the delay?

So I called today and one of the things they're waiting on is for my fingerprint card results to come back. Does anyone have a number I can call to get this situation figured out?

Also, it was my understanding that the processing times online refer to the date the BRN receives applications. Is that correct? I'm confused on BreEZe, because it says the submission date for my permanent license is 5/6 and temporary 6/21. I received verification from USPS that they received my application 4/1.

I'm in the same boat as everyone else. California received my application 3/22 but didn't cash my check until 5/03. They have rejected two sets of livescan fingerprints and made me get a set of ink fingerprints done in Maryland. I have flown to California twice to get my fingerprints electronically done. My moving date to California regardless of my license status is in the middle of August.

From my last conversation with the CBoN which took over an hour of making multiple phone calls, being on hold for two minutes, and finally speaking to someone with English as a second language I discovered that my last set of fingerprints was rejected. This is absurd.

To the people who filed a complaint with the BoN how did you file a complaint? I've been VERY patient with the CBoN as I've heard it takes a while but this is ridiculous.

Something happened to me. I submitted both applications on 5/19. Permanent license submission was done online and temporary was hand delivered to their office. On BreEZe submission dates for my permanent license is 5/19 and temporary 7/1.

Were you notified that your fingerprints were not accepted? I don't have time to keep messing with this process.

Ahhh! Congrats! I'm in the same situation as you were before. Can you pm me please? or email perhaps? [email protected]... Ha, I wonder if we have the same recruiter. Unfortunately, I don't have a job in the meanwhile and have had to already postpone for two weeks. My next start date is July 25, so that's 3 weeks no pay and I fear that it still won't be enough. What actions did you take? My information was completed and mailed to them in mid-april. However, the BRN didn't have it listed as submitted until MAY 24!!!!

I called numerous times to the BRN, but either got hung up on, rejected calls which won't go through, or call reps which gave me no new information. I emailed the governor of Cali. Our liaison also is keeping me posted and still trying to get it expedited as originally promised. I also signed a contract without licensing in hand, almost bought my ticket from phila to cali and shipped my car (which they aren't covering) a week beforehand due to their confidence in me having everything ready by then. Good thing I didn't! I'm just so ready to work it's extremely frustrating. I have since decided to drive their with my brother, but he can't continue to be strung along pending this promised license.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

It appears there are many of us in the same boat, & at the mercy of the CA BRN. Is there anything productive we might do as a group???

Hi everyone!

I graduated in June from a nursing program in MA, I applied for the CA Board of Nursing because I am relocating there.

I have started hearing back from job offers but still haven't received my ATT.

Online it says it can take up to 12 weeks, but I have heard horror stories of people waiting 5 months or more.

Should I take the NCLEX in MA, since they process everything in under two weeks and then try to get a license by endorsement or should I just wait to take the exam for the CA license since I have already applied for everything?

Thanks in advance!

If you know for certain that you want to work in California, you should just take the nclex for california board. It takes just as long endorsing and maybe even longer. I had friends who took their nclex in california and got their license quicker than expected.
