Timeline for endorsing RN license to CA

U.S.A. California

I am interested to hear anyones experience in endorsing their license into CA. I used the online endorsement as well as the livescan fingerprinting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

CRAAAAAAP I just mailed my application today because I didnt see the online application option :( thankfully I dont want to move until the first of the year but it's still frustrating that I didnt notice it.

I can't say on here but it's one of the biggest ones that has a "liaison"....talk is cheap in the industry.

Well it has been a month now since I turned in my Temporary Application in person, sill not on the Breeze website...... this is so irritating.

Make sure you go to update profile and add license or else nothing shows up. Not sure if that's the issue but i was clueless and didn't see anything show up until I did that.

I applied by mail on April 18, and my application was received May 4 on breeze website. I had the missing educational history thing for about a month and now it says open and np deficiencies and pending. I'm just waiting and hoping it will be within the next month!!

Yea.. they received my app on 3/9, and the temp license pending didn't show up on Breeze until 5/10. Still pending... Completely over the 10-12 week timeframe for my temp as of right now. Still no news.

I read that if it goes over the timeframe quoted, you can file a complaint and that usually gets them to approve it within 48ish hours.

What's sad is that I did that 2 weeks ago, and I got a response, but I still don't have my temp or permanent. The supervisor just repeated what the timeline is. I think so many people are doing it now, it's not working anymore =/.

I mailed all paperwork around mid April. My breeze account used to say pending ; missing education history. But today, it says pending still, but when I click details, it only says "open". I also received a bunch of emails back to back from breeze today asking for an email confirmation which I confirmed. Does anybody have anything to say about this? Are they moving on with my case? What does all that mean?

Overnighted my application Jan 20, Breeze shows received on Feb 12. Still pending. :( when you select that pop up on status, says open. In May my sister went to the office, they would only tell her they had everything they needed except fingerprints (they mailed in my hard card in march for verification- I thought January was PLENTY of time). I'd be happy to fly out now to get a livescan but my understanding is you have to resubmit everything if you already sent in hard card fingerprints. That makes no sense to me, and it seems like that would make it all confusing and mess things up but that's the only input I've gotten. So I just wait.... really hope I get my license by the time I finish my current job, sell my house and travel half way across the country (less than a month away.) My husbands job transfer is already approved but I really need to work too :p

Hi Seas, MSN, I am in the same boat as you. I submitted everything by paper April 18th and it was finally "received" May 4, 2016. It used to say "missing educational history," but about a week or two ago it just says open with no deficiencies. I also emailed a complaint and today i got an email saying they would forward my complaint to the Board of Nursing, but I'm assuming I might get a similar email in the near future repeating the timeline. Hopefully we get our licenses soon!

So I was just looked at the CA BRN website processing times (it was updated this morning). They are currently processing applications received March 1-15. This mean that the actual average processing time is even longer than the 10-12 weeks quoted on the website!! Nurses that applied the beginning of March have been waiting 15-17 weeks!!! OMG this is ridiculous. I am surprised that there isn't more outrage or even a nurse advocacy group or association involved in trying to get this problem fixed. From all the research that I have done this problem has been going on for at least 3 years!! *****Thank you for reading my rant. I feel slightly better to get this off my chest***** #FrustratedImpatientNurse #IJustWannaWork

After 11.5 weeks and numerous calls to the CBON and a formal complaint filed with DCA (including names and dates), I got my temporary CA license!!! I'm off to work in California 7/5.
