I am interested to hear anyones experience in endorsing their license into CA. I used the online endorsement as well as the livescan fingerprinting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
And my IA to CA Endorsement experience goes a lil something like this...4/22- mailed my application, fingerprint cards, requested transcripts from 5 schools to be sent, registered for Nursys...all done with USPS
tracking (verifies all delivery by 4/28).
5/14- personal check cashed and Breeze shows submission date of 5/8, shows open "missing educ history" and one of my colleges in suspense.
5/28- spoke to BRN states my fingerprint card was accepted.
6/5- following this forum starting to get worried because I didnt apply for temporary license and Im scheduled to start work 8-3. spoke to BRN, was told not to apply for it wouldnt make a difference.
6/23- spoke to very nice person at BRN, stated that I should apply for temporary license due to them being far behind. I sent my request and personal check that same day.
6/29- Breeze notes and deficiencies cleared, shows open
7/8- personal check clears for temporary license request
7/9- spoke to BRN states my file is complete all except my transcript information and she doesnt understand why my temporary license has not been submitted. She thought it would be a good idea to resend all my transcripts since it had been almost 11 weeks. I was put on a call back list that could take up to 10-15 days. I was not very happy with this information. I didnt want to file a complaint because I understand they are busy and behind. But the fact that my transcripts are assumed to be lost and I should just resend them for fun, I had just had enough. I submitted my complaint.
7/10- my temporary license appeared on Breeze!! Im not sure if this was just a coincidence or if my complaint is being investigated. Either way I am happy and ready to start my dream job! Im still going to stay on top of things January (expiration date) is just around the corner!
GOOD LUCK!!!!! This experience has added so much unwanted stress to my move.
***After obtaining my temporary license my recruiter from the hospital was unsure if they could accept it. After several calls and emails to BRN I did receive my permanent license the Monday before we relocated from Iowa to California. Ive been at my "dream job" for about 2 months now. Finding its not as dreamy as I thought it would be. But Im hearing that the feelings of regret are common in the early stages of relocating. Anyone else experience that?
I had no issues with receiving a temp license.
My application was delivered by mail to the PO box address on August 12th. My check was cashed exactly 3 weeks later on September 2nd. My date on breeze was August 28th. My temporary license was issued on October 2nd - 5 weeks from my breeze date. Very surprised after reading all the trouble most people have with the process, and considering the timeline the board has on their website.
I used paper prints and nursys verifcation.
Just in case anyone is following this.
I received my California temp license in 5 weeks from my breeze date, and about 8 weeks from when I mailed the application. Paper prints and all. I just posited my timeline in a new post.
Also, you only need your license verification from one active state. My original state is Pennsylvania. I am also licensed in Texas. I just sent Texas because they use nursys and Pennsylvania does not. No issues.
Sorry..this was supposed to be in reply to another post. I'm not sure why it posted separately.
Does anyone have any experience with applying for a license by endorsement as a military spouse? It says that they are expedited, but I don't know by how much. I am currently working with AYA Healthcare travel agency and so far this is my time line:
Oct 17: Live Scan done
Oct 19: Mailed all necessary documents to travel agency recruiter to submit in person in sacramento
Oct 21: Application submitted by recruiter in person to the BON.
Obviously I am very early in the application process but was hoping someone could give me some insight into applying as a military spouse. Oh and as an FYI, the recruiters told me that the communication that they have received from the BON is that cashiers checks (not perconal checks or money order) helps your license get processed faster. But I know a lot of people like to see when the checks get cashed.
Thanks in advance for any info anyone can provide!
It seems as though they have changed the timeframe for temporary licenses from 10-12 weeks to 4-6 weeks. I actually contacted the Dept of Consumer Affairs last week and told them that it makes no sense that the temporary and permanent license timeframes were the same. And also told them that I pair for a temporary license but yet only the permanent was showing up on Breeze. Lo and behold the next morning my temporary license showed up on Breeze as pending and I received an email and a phone call from a very pleasant woman who told me that if I don't have my temp license by the third week of next month to contact her and she'd find out what the hold up was.
Hoping anyone here can help!
Going to California to do LIVESCAN and drop off my paperwork directly to CBRN in Sacramento on Nov 13. Move is set for mid January. Does anyone have any updated information on how long it takes when it is handed in directly?
Thank you! I really appreciate it. Also has anyone had any problems with their names? My name is kind of confusing because I have two first names but on most of my paperwork I just put one.
Also, can you use Breeze to track a licensure by endorsement? There doesn't seem to be that option :/
Yes you can. But you won't be able to track a license until you're payment is processed. When it is processed you will create an account and add a license. Once you add your license type, it will show up.

Finally I have received my California!!!!
I sent in the application on 6/30 along with livescan finger prints. It was started 7/22. I've been playing the waiting game ever since. All in all, it took about 15 weeks from the time I mailed it and 12 weeks from the time they cashed my check. But the moment is finally here and it is definitely a sigh of relief!!!!
