Timeline for endorsing RN license to CA

Published

I am interested to hear anyones experience in endorsing their license into CA. I used the online endorsement as well as the livescan fingerprinting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Hi Guys!

Here is my timeline:

*Application sent Late June

*Checked processed July 28

* Waiting/ Status pending on BreEZe

*Aug called for updates- 4-8 weeks

*Sept called for updates-email sent from nice lady(Consumer Affairs Rep) To BON to release temp license

*Finally received my license number via BreEZe website on 9/18.

So it took about 8 full weeks for me to receive my RN CA license.

Acb, did you do live scan finger printing or hand cards?

@Perfexion it was Live scan...

OMG i'm going through the same nightmare as everyone...

*Application was sent 8/22/14

*Received by Post Office 8/26/14

*Check Cashed 9/9/2014

*I Did Live Scan in California.. also payed for a temp license

*Called 9/18/14 they said they received my Livescan fingerprints and that my nursys was cleared also.. (I got the same story that it takes 2 weeks at least after the check is cashed for them to even begin the application)

*I will call tomorrow 9/23 lets see what they tell me next.. it already been 2 weeks since they cashed the check

I am also a nervous wreck... I have a pending job offer but cannot start until I get my CA license :( arghhh this is so frustrating... I am praying I'll have it by mid October... IDK what the big hold up is.. I mean We ALL took the NCLEX and passed.. IDK why its such a big deal to get the license in CA!!!!!

Well atleast it didn't take 3 weeks for them to cash your check after they recvd it! Sounds like u will get it pretty soon since everything seems to be moving so quickly.

I too am waiting for my license to be endorsed. Status states pending with missing education history as of 9/15. So hoping that I hear something soon. :)

I think this is what bothers me the most about the whole thing. We are not applying for an ATT number so we can take the NCLEX. We are licensed nurses coming from other States in the U.S. I find it ridiculous that we even have to show transcripts of our prerequisites. Why do we have nationwide accreditations if they are not being recognized?

OK, will step off my soap box now..:sarcastic: And of course no news on my license yet either.

Just got my license number on the "BREEZE" system. About 9 weeks start to finish.

Did you do live scan or finger cards, narcan?

Hi Perfexion.

I drove to Calif & did a live scan, I used NURSYS for the current license verification, and used all online school services to get transcripts sent to CA BON electronicaly - anything to expedite the process. Lastly, mucho patience & a little humor.

Rats! It seems like all of the people who got their license in 2 months or less did live scan and the people who have been waiting 4+ months did finger cards. I did finger cards so I guess I shouldn't even bother calling. I only applied last month in August. At this rate I'll be looking at the end of this year. I was hoping to be in California before it started snowing in the northeast but I don't think that's going to happen.

Same here, perfexion. And I am fully expecting my finger print cards to fail. Just the optimist in me. I'm in Texas but might as well be in Maine; not really drivable. Wanted to be in California by December, and I have a recruiter telling me she's got assignments galore for me in the Bay Area. At this point, what optimism I possess is based on something miraculous happening.
